DS-230 Confusion

Ok, I have a lot of questions right here and I have search VJ looking for possible answers and I have not found any…maybe I am not asking or thinking of the questions in the right manner…here they are…:help::help:

How would I know if I will need to pay an IV bill? On the NVC website it says that not everyone will have to pay this fee. Is this determined by the type of visa you apply for?:help:

The next question is about the DS-230 form…in one of the guides here on VJ it is having me prepare and send the forms to NVC. You know the original birth certificate for my husband, the original police report and our original marriage certificate….I was under the impression that those items are what he needs to take with him to the interview. :help: And the DS-230 form says that he is not to sign it until he gets to the embassy and yet the guide says that my husband needs to sign it and send it to me so that I can send it to the NVC with my IV package…:help::help:

I am confused…can someone help untangle my brain and understanding on this please…:help::o

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us...

Yes you send originals with DS-230 application.

Yes he signs Part 1 ONLY of the DS-230, DO NOT have him sign Part 2.

As far as paying the bill you do that online. If it's available to pay you can click on it.

Of course I'm coming from the CR-1/IR-1 perspective so I may be giving you wrong advice on the bill part.

Thank you WhidbeyGirl!

I was looking at the barcoded coversheet and it actually has printed under the barcode "CR-1". We originally applied for the K-3 visa.

Does the status change as we go along? or am i seeing that as something more than what it truly is????:wacko:

Still a little cloudy :o:( .....
