Physicians for Human Rights (PHR), a medical ethics watchdog, claim that the CIA physicians and psychologists performed unlawful medical experiments on terror suspects at Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, Bagram, and other US detention sites.

In a press release, the Physicians for Human Rights claim that the "extent to which American physicians and psychologists violated human rights and betrayed the ethical standards of their professions by designing, implementing, and legitimizing a worldwide torture program is greater than previously known."

They claim that the CIA and the Bush administration "relied on medical expertise to rationalize and carry out abusive and unlawful interrogations."

The doctors, PHR says, "actively monitored the CIA's interrogation techniques with a view to determining their effectiveness, using detainees as human subjects without their consent."

The American Medical Association has also issued a statement saying that the "participation of physicians in torture and interrogation is a violation of core ethical values."

Physicians for Human Rights have called for "health professionals who have violated ethical standards or the law to be held accountable through criminal prosecution, loss of license, and loss of professional society membership where appropriate."

oh well.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
