Psychics Anyone?

So I was thinking about heading to my local bistro/coffee house today, when I remembered that they have a psychic there every Thursday. I was thinking I might go down and see what that's all about. So, anyway, this made me wonder..... what are your experiences or thoughts on the matter?

I can't answer the last two questions, they are too absolute. I'm undecided, I've never been but can't say that I either never would, or that I would like to, and I'm undecided

I think a lot people have some sort of psychic ability (or something that might pass as an ability) but are not in tune with it. The brain is very complex and we only now how some of it works.

Have never paid a psychic and probably never would - too many likely bogus ones out there.

Having grown up being really interested in the occult, and reading everything I could get my hands on in regards to it, I'm pretty sure there are some people out there with some psychic abilities. These can vary from simply being empathic to having some abilities with regards to "fortune telling".

A few of my friends are witches; some use the tarot; others scry; some use runes etc etc. All of them a a pretty uncanny knack at picking up on things about people and their lives.

I've always said, and I stand by this, that a genuine reader will not charge. It's a gift, not a way to make money! However, in this day and age we all need to make a few extra pennies, so those readers are getting more few and far between.

So, I say go for it. But don't take what the reader says too deeply! Also, take off your wedding ring (if you wear one) and do NOT answer any questions he/she asks you. Just give non committal noises when they talk and don't give them any clues at all. If they ask you stuff like "have you been unhappy lately?" don't answer them! They're the fortune teller and should know these things.

It's called a Cold Reading - they're slowly finding out answers from you to lead the reading.

Whether what is called psychic ability is just a mental construct, or extra perception, is debatable, but some folks do have an uncanny ability to predict future events. I know that I am often plagued with deja-vu and premonitions, and that makes me uneasy at times, as I feel helplessly bound to the fate of the visions.

I have strange dreams.

For example - I had a vivid and disturbing dream about a very close friend of mine - that she was back living at home with her parents and her young child. I later found out that her in reality, that her husband had committed suicide. I hadn't been in contact with her or her family in years and actually the last time I saw her was at her wedding, so I didn't even know she had a child.

I don't know what to make of these kinds of dreams but they really leave a lasting impression on me.

I'm undecided, although I have had two disturbing incidents involving spiritualists. The first time I went a long to a meeting with my best friend, just for a laugh, when the main spiritualist stood up to do her "thing" she stopped and just stared at my friend, then looked as if she was going to throw up and left the room....it totally freaked my friend out and she was upset for days, a few months later she died after having a fairly routine op.

The second time I went with my ex as he is into all that....the spiritualist got all agitated and weird with me, she said that I had recently lost someone close and suddenely (my brother) and he was desperately trying to "take her over" to make contact with me....but she couldn't allow it within an audience setting but would be happy to see me one to one...I declined and didn't go to anymore shows
