I only brought that up because once at Ohare, returning from Jordan, I saw them take a man with a B1/B2 aside and since he didnt have enough 'proof' to satisfy them, he was put in a room to wait for the next plane back. (saw it happen, he came for a meeting and he didnt have the meeting letter and BAM, he was being denied at entry)

Not at all being negative, but having the visa does not guarantee entry to America.

They also changed the visa time on a pregnant girl. She had a 6 month visa to visit~~ they saw she was pregnant and said to her 'You have 60 days and do not have your baby here. (heard it with my own ears)

Wishing you the best of course (F)

Jackie

I didnt think you were being negative...but wise and sweet to give that advise :luv:

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

That is why I asked if they knew he had the K1 pending. I know a friend whose husband had a visa and tried to come here while waiting for USCIS to approve their petition. He was denied entry (and was not even MENA). I really hope that doesn't happen to the OP's spouse, but just be warned.

That is really great and it just goes to show just because MOST get rejected, doesn't mean everyone will

So you can have a K1 pending and visit US? I didn't know that.

Hiiii everyone! Thanks for the comments! :) :)

Yes, the VO did know he had a K1 pending. They asked this on the B2 application plus he asked to see a copy of our NOA1. I really thought this would hurt our chances... but it didn't. He also asked the usual questions but he did ask where we intended on getting married (the US). Not sure how that factored into the situation.

Regarding the POE... we'll have a copy of both of our vacation requests (from the same company since we work together, for the exact same dates), as well as our round trip tickets (we are traveling together so at least I'll be there with him to hopefully help through any complications that may arise). We'll also take copies of both our K1 and B2 applications - to be safe, our work IDs (showing we're both employed in Egypt), and depending on my situation at the time, my lease which could possibly be through June 2010. I'll also keep with us a detailed itinerary of our trip. Do you guys think this will suffice? Any other suggestions? I can't believe some of the stories that have been told. It's horrible!!!!

If you're going through Boston's POE I think you should have no problems. My husband took all of ten minutes I think and it only took that long 'cause he was showing the guy a ring he got me. Congratulations!

That's great news ! :) Good luck at the POE, be sure to have sufficient proof of returning for him to show the officer at the airport.

Jackie (F)

Congrats....

And Jackie is correct.

If the officer thinks he "smells" anything funny its back on the plane to Egypt.

Good luck and I hope all goes well. I'm sure he is excited about seeing the US
