M I-130 application has been sitting, untouched, at the Vermont Service Center for over 130 days. Today I got an e-mail from them saying that my application was being transferred to California! Why? And if they were going to do that, why didn't they do that sooner, and not wait over four months to do it?! Now will I be in line behind everyone whose applications reached California before mine does, or will the received date on my original application place me ahead of those who filed their applications in the last four months? What a nightmare!

Please relax a little, you'll give yourself a condition.

This is all normal and is not hurting your processing time at all.

Petitions are typically adjudicated within 6 months of receipt.

If that's true, they have 1 month and 18 days to adjudicate mine. Everyone, including the senators/congressmen, said mine would be ajudicated by the end of June, and the local immigration assistance people seem shocked that it is taking this long to have an I-130 processed. I'm stressed and irritable and I can't help it. Applications filed well after mine have been approved, and now, after over four months of nothing, my case is transferred! I'm not the only one stressed over this transfer stuff. This sounds bad, but all the people telling me to relax have already gotten their NOA2s.

newhampshire, my I-130 went to Vermont 3-1/5 months ago and there has been nothing. Nor do I expect anything. It'll happen when it happens, and no one (not even a politician or shocked phone rep) can predict how long it will take. But if you work yoursef into a state, expecting the government to perform according to your timelines, you'll only add unnescessary stress. Let's see if anyone else is having their case transferred. Meanwhile, be kind to yourself.

I-130 sent Mar 30, 06

approved Aug 15, 06

I-129f sent April 24, 06

Hi,

We just got the same email today on our I-130 cases (wife and stepdaughter)...I was wondering the same thing....why transfer to california? I suppose you have to look at it as that they are doing something....find the silver lining as frustrating as it is. I still wonder though...the email says we will recieve a notice informing us that our case has been transferred to a local office....lol....can't get much more NON-local than california....i'm in New York...lol

I feel ya, really I do.

Historically, Service Center transfers bring good things more quickly.

Service Centers often move work loads around. I recall reading other VSC--CSC I-130 transfers recently. If I see something useful, I'll pass it along to you.

Sorry to be so anxious - but it seems like I can't help it! I'm okay until I start thinking about it, and then ....

I talked to the toll-free number and at first she said my case must have been transferred by mistake. Then after a long time she came back on the phone and said my case was transferred due to a backlog. She also said it would take 2-4 weeks for my application to make it to California and be documented as received. When I asked if I would now be behind all I-130 applications received in California before that time, she said she wasn't really sure but she hoped they'd process mine according to the original receipt date.

At least she was honest, and human.

I don' t think they should be sending form letters out telling Vermont people that California has jurisdiction over their cases - that 's inappropriate, misleading, and confusing. They ought just be honest and up front and say that they are waaayyyy behind - even though supposedly on the USCIS website it says they're processing apps from 2/5/06. Too bad. Mine was received & NOA1 date of 3/1/06. I'm pretty sure I'll have a longer wait now.

Does anyone know the answer to that question? Will all the applications sent from Vermont to California now be behind all the applications already in California, or will they move ours ahead according to the date Vermont received them? The dates of receipt in Vermont vary from March to May.

Thanks,

MY I130 NOA 1 date is the 26th of March at VSC and it was send to CSC on the 10th of July and I got an email that said that it was rcvd at CSC on the 10th. It's been touched on the 12th of July and also on the 13th(today). So I hope that means they're working on it. Hang in there! Our chance will come soon!

I agree with you completely, it was very scary and misleading but please try to relax. What good is all the worrying doing you???? There are several of us in the same situation and none of us has the answer . We sympathize with you and understand just how you feel. Just try to stay positive and keep busy until we do find the answer. I'm just trying to keep in mind that finally after 4 months SOMETHING is being done with my I-130, it has sat gathering cobwebs in Vermont all that time and I'm glad it has been dusted off and is moving!!!!!

Hello all,

I got that transfer notice in mail yesterday as well. Case was transfered from VSC to CSC with a notice date of July 6th. On my case status online it says, "your application was received here on July 10th" so I guess CSC is confirming reciept of the case but what next...............?

I soo hope this moves quick. I gave up hope on K3 after they've halted everything for the IMBRA thing. If anyone with similar transfers have any further updates, please post. Thanks!

I'm so depressed. So many people whose applications were transferred from Vermont to California are saying that their applications are already in California and that their applications are getting lots of touches. I checked the status of mine and there is no update. I called the 1-800 number and they say that my application was sent to California on the 12th and returned on the 14th. They say not to worry, but what does it mean, returned? Is my application lost in limbo? Not in NH or CA? My NOA1 date was March 1, 2006 - now other applications sent to California are already being worked on and mine is nowhere? I'm just going to cry. Help!
