Finally getting around to posting my husband's Interview yesterday in Omaha, Nebraska

We arrived around 8:30am, and sat in the waiting area for about 30 minutes or so.

There were a few people ahead of him. They finally called his name. I would say he was in there less than 30 minutes.

They asked his name, DOB,where he was born, how long he lived in (town we lived in), martial status, where he worked, and what my name was. They didn't ask for any documentation he took with him. He did mentioned his file was big :)

She also said they made a mistake and put his date of birth as the day he entered the usa, but she fixed it.

The questions they asked him.

Name 2 US holidays? July 4th and Thanksgiving

Who was the first president? George Washingtone

Who is the governer of your state? Dave Heinman

What is one promise you make you when become a US citizen? To Defend the Constitution and Laws of the US

Name one of the longest rivers in the USA? Missouri

Where is the Statue Of Liberty Located? New York Harbor

He had to read who lives in the White House?

He wrote. The President lives in the White House.

He answered all his 6 questions correct.

She then told him he passed his interview and wanted to know if he wanted to change his name. He said no. She told him the next big oath ceremony was in November or he can come back later at 2:45pm and get sworn in. He chose to get sworn in that day.

The oath ceremony was small about 20 people and was very quick. We got to take our cameras in and take pictures. They did say they can make a copy of their Naturalization Document before sending for a passport in case it gets lost because it cost a lot to replace it.

Pretty short interview and oath ceremony yesterday. The 4 hour drive home was long...

Congratulations to all the New Citizens.

Thanks Everyone!!!!

I forgot to mention the part about when they called my husband's last name. She kept saying AL AL AL finally me and my husband at the same time said his last name. Give her credit though there was some difficult names she had to pronounce. :P

So nice you chared!!! Wish both of you the best. My interview is in 2 weeks, I'm a little anxious. Your post was helpful

Thanks and good luck at the interview. My husband was anxious the whole night before the interview and couldn't sleep and of course kept me up all night too. I tried my best to report his experience but he kept forgetting things. I think it was the whole experience. He thought he was going to get grilled but the IO was very nice.

:dance: Congratulations and thanks for sharing your hubby's interview and oath experienced. My interview will be Sept. 29 in Dallas, TX and I'm hoping to have a nice IO and same day oath.:thumbs:

Thanks and I hope you get a same day oath also. We live in Nebraska, population not too big. We had the option to go to bigger ceremony but we both work and we might be able to get the time off , so my husband opted for the same day oath. Hope to see you post your interview experience. They are very helpful. Good Luck!!

What did you two do between 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM? Least you didn't have to make a second 8 hour trip, that's nice.

We went back to Holiday Inn Express and packed our things and decided to go see the Joslyn Art Museum and a Mall. Just kill some time until his oath ceremony. You are right just thinking about another trip makes me exhausted.
