Hi Dorothy,

I am back from the Infopass appointment. My local office is in Garden City, not sure of yours. I don't understand why you have to wait for 45 days after the calling. I made the phone call and made the appointment on the same day. It seems these two are unrelated, because one is answered by national service center and another is dealt with by the local office.

The officer checked my case number, and told me that the finger prints have already been cleared. As of why there has been so long without any development, her answer is that the case is still under processing and I should be able to hear from them within a month. If I still do not hear from them after a month, I may make another appointment to see what happens.

Hope this helps. Maybe we New Yorkers just have to wait longer?

Thank you so much for the update. I thought it was a NY thing but I am just not so sure. I'll give it till January 15th and then make an Infopass if nothing happens. After I called they send me a letter with a "inquiry tracking" number and the note regarding 45 day rule.

I am just getting frustrated but I'll hope that it won't be much longer as we've been planning a trip to Poland for next summer and I was hoping we could just avoid the visa process for my husband...Oh well, back on the line waiting for our number to come up...

All,

Well, well, well, what a day. I went back today because i was asked to come back for my oath letter since i hadnt been an LPR for 3 years as at December 10th when i went for my interview. Got there and submitted the letter again and i waited for about 15 minutes and then called for "interview". I was shocked since i had done the "interview" on the 10th, i raised the issue and the officer kindly told me that the interview for the 10th was null and void because i hadnt been an LPR for 3 years (i was shocked cos i hadnt bothered studying since the 10th).

I said ok lets get on with it then and here are the questions i was asked;

1. Name one war fought by the US in the 1900's

2. How many voting members are in the house of rep.

3. How long is a member of the house voted for.

4. Who is the father of the nation

5 When do we vote for president.

I cant remember what the 6th one was. I answered all 6 correctly and was asked to wait for the seccond interview. After about 25 minutes i was called in by a lady who conducted the second interview and all was going great untill she saw our joint account statement showing a new address (wife got a job and moved to another town). She now went through everything and i mean "everything" from the begining of our petition, i wasnt overly concerned because my marriage is REAL.

After about 20 minutes of perusing through all that we had ever sent to them she said congratulations, i am approving your petition and that i should wait outside and get my oath letter.

Waited for about 30 minutes and a lady cameout and called my name and gave me my oath letter. Oath is scheduled for February third 2010.

Just an update.

Since I still have the e-mail for one of the immigration officers that help me back during my I -751. Today I decided to inquiry about my case, and I wrote him an e-mail. He answered me in 30 minutes and told me that my case was in "Q" for a oath ceremony in Panama city. That the scheduler was not there today, and to write him back on January and he will ask the scheduler. I guess she/he (Scheduler) is off for the holidays. At least that saved me a 8 hours drive (round trip) to my local office. So I guess I will have to wait until after the holidays. That is better that nothing.

Merry Christmas and Happy New year to everyone. I will let you know as soon as I have any news.

I got a call from the San Jose immigration office today. She said I have been scheduled for an Oath on Jan 22nd at the San Jose office.

02-09-2007 : Marriage

I-130 Stage (Filed while I was on Green card)

08-04-2009 : I-130 Approved

NVC Stage

09-04-2009 : NVC Received

09-08-2009 : NVC case# assigned (Waiting game begins to Upgrade my case to IR-1)

Onuche-Congatulations on passing your "second interview". It doesn't seem fair that you would have to go through the interview process twice and make your first interview "null and void" because of their scheduling errors! They should have just scheduled you one interview date that is past your 3yr mark, and not have waste your time that day going in for another interview. Oh well.

Congratulations too, getting an oath date for February 3rd, and good luck with your oath ceremony then! And yes, do update us on vj about that too. What a nice holiday present, indeed!

WaitinginNY-Hope you don't have to wait too much longer for an interview. Hope you get an interview date soon. Who knows, maybe that infopass appointment did help after all. And yes, if you don't hear from them again, then do contact them again soon. Lol...Move up to Buffalo, NY to speed up your case (just kidding...but yeah, doesn't seem fair that one part of the state processes things quickly, while others have to wait a lot longer).

Guess the stress you had to go through in the past, will help you in your case now too. Sure saves the time to e-mail than to drive all that long distance away! Definitely better than nothing! Ok, Today my "friend" from my local immigration office sent me an e-mail telling me that I have a tentative date on 03/19/10 in Panama City Court house. He also told me that they have one oath ceremony early in Pensacola on Feb 26th, 2010. He asked me to tell him if I want to attend the one in Pensacola or the one in Panama City. Of course I wrote him an e-mail telling him that I will take the one in Pensacola on Feb 26th 2010. I guess I just have to wait for the actual letter now.

I really cat NOT believe I will get the Oath letter today! First, the office asked me go home and wait their decison if I pass while she interviewed me. So I think I will get the letter , something like I pass or I need one more time interview ; not Oath letter! Anyway..Thanks God!! :dance::dance:

Hi Everyone,

Maryces21-Congratulations on getting an oath date for February 26th, and good luck with your oath ceremony then! And yes, do update us on vj about that too. What a nice holiday present, indeed! I agree, it does help to have "friends" int he immigration business (lol..). This definitely makes up for the "trouble" that they caused you during the I-751 stage. Likewise, if I were you , I would have chosen the earlier oath date in February than in March. By the way, is the Pensacola or Panama City location closer or are they both the same distance away? Either way, definitely pick the earlier oath date. In the meantime, you can print out the e-mail that you received as "temporary proof" of your oath date. Hope you get the actual letter in the mail though.

Ok, Today my "friend" from my local immigration office sent me an e-mail telling me that I have a tentative date on 03/19/10 in Panama City Court house. He also told me that they have one oath ceremony early in Pensacola on Feb 26th, 2010. He asked me to tell him if I want to attend the one in Pensacola or the one in Panama City. Of course I wrote him an e-mail telling him that I will take the one in Pensacola on Feb 26th 2010. I guess I just have to wait for the actual letter now.

I really cat NOT believe I will get the Oath letter today! First, the office asked me go home and wait their decison if I pass while she interviewed me. So I think I will get the letter , something like I pass or I need one more time interview ; not Oath letter! Anyway..Thanks God!! :dance::dance:
