Hello to All,

Meaw's interview whas scheduled for 10:45 today. We of course arrived early. She was called in at 10:40. She was finished 20 minutes later. It could not have been easier. First she was sworn in. The IO then asked only for her green card. I had loaded Meaw down with at least 100 pages of stuff. None of it was asked for. Not the passport, ID card, marriage license, tax transcripts, nothing! The IO asked her a few questions:

Have you ever been to the U.S. before receiving your visa?

Where do you work?

What does your husband do?

How many times have you been outside the U.S. since becoming a permanent resident?

Did your husband go with you?

He then asked her a few of the yes or no questions from the N-400, maybe 4 or 5. Asked her if she would bear arms and go to war if asked. Thought that one was pretty funny. He then asked her to read the sentence "Who can vote"? Then asked her to write "Citizens can vote".

She was asked only 4 questions from the possible 100, not six, not ten, only 4. All were softballs.

Who is the Vice President of the U.S. now?

What is the highest court in the U.S.?

What people were brought to the U.S. and sold as slaves?

Why did the Colonists fight the British?

The IO said congratulations and said that he might be stopping in to the restaurant that she works in some day. That was it. Couldn't have been easier. The interview was the easiest part of the whole journey, as it should be after what they put people through to get to this point in the process. Hope this helps someone. Best of Luck to everyone still waiting.

Peace, Evan and Meaw

I passed my interview tests as well. Fairly straightfoward - my officer had a stiff upper lip and a very mechanical mentality. No nonsense. Went through my app, there were a few changes in the app since I changed my job from when I submitted my app, missed disclosing a citation and some editorial stuff.

The questions were all softballs - 1) WHo wrote the declaration of independence, 2) Name the major poltical parties, 3) What is political party of the president, 4) One state bordering Mexico, 5) Name 2 of the 13 original states, 6) Who is the commander in chief of the military

She said I passed and and a written decision would be sent to me regarding my application after she re-reviews my file. It was unlikely that I'd make it to the dec 17th oath since the letters are sent at least 2 weeks in advance. I guess she has to get her superior officer's signature due to changes in application - but she didnt say that. So I have to wait for my decision. Fingers crossed.

Hi All,

I had my interview today at 1:45 pm. I was called exactly at 1:45 pm( I was impressed to be honest). My female officer was really professional and to the point. She went through my application, made some adjustments as she was asking me questions. She was smiling all the time and told me that the 8 questions of the test (below) seemed to be quite little easy for me:

1- Name one war the US fought in 1900?

2- How many Representatives are in the House

3- Who is the father of the US

4- How long we elect a representative for

5- Who is the actual Chef of Justice

6- how many Judges in the supreme court

7- Sorry I forgot

8- Sorry I forgot

After, I signed the application, She said every thing looked perfect and I recommend you for approval. She gave me N-652 and congratulated me. She said an Oath letter is to be sent to you but she didn't believe it is going to happen in December. She said I believe you will have you Oath on January because a lot of people are still waiting ahead of you. All of the Interview took 20 min exactly.

Any ways, thank you all and I guess good luck to every body who still in the process and keep in mind that the interview is the easiest thing of the journey.

Hanhan-Congratulations on you passing the interview and thanks for sharing about that experience here on VJ.

I agree, the interview is/was pretty easy. As long as one studies for the tests, and have their evidence, then no problem there......

Good luck with the rest of your immigration journey and hope that you get your oath date soon too.

Ant

Well, it seems that three of us have interviews scheduled for Tuesday. Mine is at 10:30 am. I am lucky that the local office is quite close to my own office. I am taking only the morning off.

Good luck to all of us!
