My online status changed this morning to "sent for a standard interview". Finally there is some movement. My timeline is posted under the July-August thread. Btw, Bilson4real who also filed in August at Raleigh received the same online status change this morning. Looks like Raleigh is moving again. You should be next.

Hi Everyone,

Waiting2008-No problem. Glad to be able to help here (though I was just guessing, anyhow..). I agree, they are probably just making sure that you are eligible for citizenship, and are going through your past cases, hence the touches. Should be no problem there, especially since your previous cases were approved already. Good question...What is the difference between the yellow and white letters? I only got the white letter, so I don't know what the yellow letter says on it. But from what I've read on VJ, most people get the yellow letter before the white letter, and the white letter is more 'fnal' in terms of confirming the interview. Plus, I think the white letter comes with an additonal interview letter, which states the date and time of interview (which it was in my case). Either way, getting a yellow and/or a white lettter is not a bad thing, as it shows that they are working on your case, and what to bring for the interview too. Good luck in you getting your interview letter/letters soon.

Ant , Thank you for the info. I just checked my portfolio online and every case i have has been updated since i have filed my N-400. They may be going through all paperwork to make sure doing the right thing. And what is the difference between yellow and white letters?

I would assume because it is the final case they want to make sure we suffer a little longer lol ...

Hanhan-Interesting, that you case was touched again after you got the interview e-mail and update. Maybe that's a sign that your interview letter is on it's way to you in the mail, probably you'll get such this/next week. As for me, my last touch was 10/13/09...the date on my interview letter for the interview on Nov 18, which I got a few days later in the mail...no touches after that....Don't worry..touches are a good thing...shows they are working on your file/case....

Linaj-Thanks for the update. Odd, that you didn't get an update e-mail for your interview. Maybe it was a system glitch or something, as they do send e-mails for that (well at least from my experience, as I got an interview e-mail). Also check your junk mail folder too, as the e-mail could have been in there instead of your inbox. Regardless, the important thing is the notice by snail/regular mail, which tells you the exact date and time and what to bring for your interview. So be on the lookout for that, which you will get in the next week or so likely. Fingers crossed...

I have been signed up for email alert's from the very beginning. I recieved the first email when it came to my biometrics...;however, for the interview I never recieved the email alert. I know they sent my case for interview on Oct 25th, because I was checking the "case updates" everyday and that's when it was updated saying it was transferred for a interview.

AHHH I hate the wait and I haven't recieved the interview letter as of yet. I'm hoping it comes in the mail sometime next week.

Just wanted to update everybody on my case.. b/c i've been MIA for a well. So everybody please your fingers crossed!

Onuche-Congrats on getting your rfe (fingerprints letter) and for a successful infopass/walk-in biometrics. Oh yeah, it definitely helps to "get to the bottom of things" with the infopass, and find out what is going on with your case, especially since they delayed your biometrics in the first place. Hope things move along further for you too, and that you get your interview letter soon too.

I finally got the RFE today and it was for the biometrics and i went to the ASC and had my biometrics done today.

Hopefully things move ahead faster than it has been so far.

Interestingly, USCIS touched my case today as well! Can't believe they'd do it on a Sunday. In any case, I think the application processing time is a factor of 1) your priority date and 2) when you complete 5yrs on your greencard.

I completed 5yrs on Oct 24th, which probably explains why they are touching my case a lot. Most applicants apply 90days before the 5yr greencard completion mark so normally the USCIS has ample time to process. I applied ~30days before the 5yr mark. (due to change of location/district - I had to fulfill the 3 month residence requirement in the new location).

Well good news.. strangely enough today I recieved the interview (email). I wasn't really stressing it due to the fact that the interview letter should've been on it's way based on the "case updates".. but I was still a little considered.... that they hadn't sent the email about my interview when my case got updated. Well I'am a little more relaxed!.. now I just have to wait for this letter in the mail. Hopefully sometime this week.. due to my case being transferred to a field office a week ago.

Well I'm gald to see everybody is processing and moving along pretty smoothly. Good luck.. and let's keep the updates going!

you can call them at 1-800-375-5283, i am not sure if you can get the answer you are looking for. It would be best if you can schedule Infopass. Keep us updated.

I don't think there's anything to worry about just yet. I also live in New York, and it looks like your dates are very similar to mine (see below), and my LUD is also the same as yours. There are also a number of other candidates with similar dates.

Like waiting2008 said, if you are truly concerned, you can use Infopass to schedule an appointment with an USCIS officer. My guess is that they will just tell you to wait. I believe they usually don't take much action as long as your dates are within the current processing times (which usually reflect a much longer time frame than how long the process actually takes, as you can see here).

WaitinginNY-Welcome to the September 2009 N-400 filers list! Thanks for adding your name and info here. And yes, do keep up the updates here! Let's all track our progress together! As for your fingerprints being processed, from what I've noticed here on VJ, it ususally takes 2-3 weeks or so after that for someone to get their interview letter. Your last touch was probably for the fingerprints, which you have done already. Did you check what the message on the website said? If it is for an interview letter, than the status should change to "interview and testing". Perhaps your name is still stuck in "name check", (having a common name, having a background, etc.) and hence the delay in moving your case further? Or then again, maybe your particlar local office could be busy, and are scheduling interviews later. Nevertheless, since it has been a month since your fingerprints, you can probably inquire further about your case, by calling the 1-800 number/mis-information line and/or scheduling an infopass appointment. Hope this helps as well. Don't worry, you'll get your interview letter in time, and like what you said...no worries about bar dates either...lol....
