Hi everybody,

did anybody had update on their previous applications? I485 and I765.

they have been updated ( touched 3 days ago ). What is that supposed to mean? Any comment would be appreciated.

thank you

I have read from somewhere that someone's 485 was touched (LUD changed) after FP, and not long after that, he got interview letter. So hopefully, this is a sign of they working on your case and you may get something very soon. Looks like when they review or move the old files when processing N400, sometimes it will trigger the LUD get updated. Keep us posted. I am also at Raleigh DO and have been waiting on interview letter for almost 40 days. There has been no movement on my case at all. I have not even received the yellow letter. Have you got the yellow letter?

Did you get any update on your previous app's. I hope that's good new as you said. I will post all the updates as usual.

I did not get any kind of letters, What is yellow letter stand for?

The yellow letter is simply a check list of documents you need to bring to the interview. It is pretty generic from what I can tell, not very specific to each case. A lot of people receive it, but there are also people who never received it even after receiving interview letter.

Hi Everyone,

Annie Pie-Welcome to the September 2009 N-400 filers list! Thanks for adding your name and info here. And yes, do keep up the updates here! Let's all track our progress together!

Add my application info...

Happyimmigrant-Thanks for updating your check cashed date. Hope you get your fingerprints/biometrics letter soon too. In answer to your question, about when to get the fingerprints letter, here is my timeline is as follows: Filed 9/9/09, Check cashed 9/15/09, NOA 9/15/09, Biometrics/Fingerprints letter 9/23/09. So based on that, more likely than not, you'll receive your letter in the next 1-2 weeks or so. If you don't get such a letter a month after you filed, then yes, you should inquire further about getting such, as getting fingerprints done is an important part of this process. And hopefully, it won't take long or be a nightmare for you too. And yes, do keep us updated as to what happens next in your case too.

Updating my check cashed date. I wonder at what point I start to worry that I haven't received my fingerprint notification? Or, like every other step of this whole nightmarish process, I suppose my process will take longer than everyone else's, for who knows what reason.

Onuche-Sorry to hear that you still haven't heard anything about your biometrics and had to put in a service request for that. Lol..I guess with immigration, one has to give them a "nudge" in order for them to do something. Hopefully, by you calling the mis-information line for a service request, that would help in your case, and result in getting a biometrics date soon. And yes, definitely go for your infopass appointment on Friday. And who knows, maybe you can get a "walk-in" biomterics done while you are there too (lol..it worked for me...). More likely than not, your RFE is probably the biomterics appointment letter. But you should inquire about such at your infopass too, just in case. Good luck with you infopass apointment and upcoming biomterics, and yes, do update all of us as to what happens with your case next too.

Lesson learned: Wake the USCIS from their slumber! Call and inquire about your case if it is outside normal processing times!

I had called the mis-information line last week on the 22nd (one month after my NOA1) because i still hadnt heard anything from them regarding my biometrics and they had put in a service request. By the way i was told something about my file not being found and them waiting for it to be brought to thier office from God knows where.

On monday the 26th i got a letter from the USCIS saying am in queue for biometrics, i was like what??? a whole month after filling? and they also stated it might take up to 6o days from the date on the notice to notify me of any changes. I was angry, and went ahead and booked an infopass appointment for this Friday.

This morning i woke up with a text from USCIS saying a notice was mailed on Monday 26th requesting additional evidence (which am assuming would be the biometrics appointment).

I feel someone somewhere forgot my file somewhere and it took the service request to wake him or her from their slumber. Anyway, am waiting to see what the RFE is all about and hopefully its the biometrics ( which i intend to do via walk-in anyway).

So for those who are awaiting one thing or the other, better not wait, just call and put in a service request and see what that does.

Hanhan-Hope that the CRIS status change for you is the interview letter and hope you get that soon in the mail too. Keep us updated as to when you get that letter and when your interview date is too.

Lol..As for me bringing luck to this forum...nah...I doubt it....as I'm not lucky at all..

Though I admit that in my N-400 application cover letter, I mentioned:

"I want to end on a good experience with the USCIS, despite having unreasonable delays before" (delays with my I-751 case, especially)

So maybe that helped a bit too...hmmm.......

Hi Ant,

I just received an email saying that my case is in the : " testing and Interview" . I think I shoul be receiving the Interview Letter very soon. Will Keep you updated.

Ant, I think you brought some luck to me in this forum. Thank YOU....

Sherose-Hope that the CRIS status change for you is the interview letter and hope you get that soon in the mail too. Keep us updated as to when you get that letter and when your interview date is too.

Hello to All,

Received this e-mail from USCIS today. Looks like we should be getting an interview letter any day now. Almost finished now!

Peace, Evan and Meaw

Waiting2008-In answer to your question, likewise, my I-485 was touched again after my case was approved. My case was approved in November 2006, and it was touched again on 04/28/2007, which is oddly enough, the date of our first wedding anniversary. Since then, there have been no further touches on my I-485 case. Hmmm.....

I think that the USCIS touches cases after they have been approved, so as to check up on things, and/or to update their files.

Since you applied for N-400/citizenship recently, my guess is that they touched your I-485 case recently, to make sure that you are eligible for such, and/or they want to finally update and close that former I-485 case so that they can move on to the N-400 citizenship stage of the immigration game for you. Either that, or when they were updating your N-400 file, they looked at the I-485 file instead by mistake, which triggered a touch in the system.

Regardless, a touch on a previous case is not a bad thing, especially since it has been approved already. It's more important though, to look at touches for current and pending cases, instead of previous cases. So keep updated with the N-400 touches instead. Then again...touches are kind of unrealiable anyways...As anything can trigger a touch, really (lol..spilt coffee, perhaps?)....So just wait for the updates in the mail, as that's the most reliable and up to date information that they have on your file and has what you need to respond to next. Hope this helps too.

Raleigh2009-Thanks for explaining what a yellow letter is. I never got one of those (I only got the white letter and the interview letter). Not sure if that's a good thing or not, but I think yellow letters are ok, so it at least show that they are working on your file and what to expect when you do get your interview letter. And yes, by all means, if your case is beyond normal processing times, or is unreasonable waiting, by all means, schedule an infopass appointment and inquire about such!

I am considering that too. I am going to wait a couple of weeks more and I will get an infopass if I still do not hear anything.

Good luck everyone, on the rest of your N-400 journeys! Happy waiting and studying! Let's all keep updated!

I hope everything is fine. For some reason it looks like NC office a little slow on some cases.

I dont know how busy they are in NC, but we should be next :)

Ant ,

Thank you for the info. I just checked my portfolio online and every case i have has been updated since i have filed my N-400. They may be going through all paperwork to make sure doing the right thing. And what is the difference between yellow and white letters?

I would assume because it is the final case they want to make sure we suffer a little longer :) lol ...

If you have an account set up with uscis, go to your portfolio page and you will see when the last time your application was update it. Below you can see a quote from UCIS website regarding Last Update:" ....

Note on "Last Updated" date:

Your case may have a new "Last Updated" date and you may receive an Email and/or text message notification of your case being updated, without the status of the case changing. This is due to internal USCIS processing being performed on your Case. This will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date, but may not result in a different status message.

Hey Everyone,

I have been signed up for email alert's from the very beginning. I recieved the first email when it came to my biometrics...;however, for the interview I never recieved the email alert. I know they sent my case for interview on Oct 25th, because I was checking the "case updates" everyday and that's when it was updated saying it was transferred for a interview.

AHHH I hate the wait and I haven't recieved the interview letter as of yet. I'm hoping it comes in the mail sometime next week.

Just wanted to update everybody on my case.. b/c i've been MIA for a well. So everybody please your fingers crossed!

I am considering that too. I am going to wait a couple of weeks more and I will get an infopass if I still do not hear anything.

I hope everything is fine. For some reason it looks like NC office a little slow on some cases.

I dont know how busy they are in NC, but we should be next :)

My online status changed this morning to "sent for a standard interview". Finally there is some movement. My timeline is posted under the July-August thread. Btw, Bilson4real who also filed in August at Raleigh received the same online status change this morning. Looks like Raleigh is moving again. You should be next.
