In answer to your question, yes, I did get an e-mail from the USCIS and an update from CRIS when I got my interview letter, which is as follows:

Online CRIS (Last Updated 10/13/2009):

Testing and Interview

Your case has been transferred to a local office and an interview will be scheduled. You will be sent a notice advising you of the date and time of your interview. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location and anything you will need to bring to your interview. If your application remains pending beyond our normal processing times (as shown below) please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Please note that not every application/applicant will require an interview. In some instances, an interview is required by regulation and others an interview is requested because USCIS has determined that this is the most efficient means to determine eligibility. For a naturalization application the interview will include your taking the required English and/or Civics tests (unless exempt or waived).

Got Interview letter and updating list

Thanks. Now thinking about how to get leave as I am in difficult situation per my medical field. Also the fact that I still do not know about the Oath date. If get it close to interview date by luck then even more difficult to get emergency leave.

Form the date of becoming a permanet resident. 3 years If you still married to the same US citizen who gave you the green card or 5 years if you are not applying throught marriage.

05/04/11 Waiting.......I am pregnant and I wish my Mom could be here when baby is born

05/23/11 Received email. Case approved. Yeahhhhhh

05/26/11 Received NOA 2 in the mail.

--------------NVC stage-----------------

06/07/11 NVC received case.

06/08/11 Called to give emails and got IIN.

06/10/11 Sent DS3032 email and paid AOS fee. Received auto response 15 seconds later.

06/14/11 AOS Showed Paid. Sent AOS Package.

06/16/11 NVC Received and accepted DS3032. AOS Package was delivered to NVC.

06/17/11 Paid IV fee.

06/22/11 IV Showed Paid.

06/23/11 Sent DS-230 via Express Mail.

06/24/11 DS 230 was delivered by USPS.

06/28/11 AOS was accepted per AVR.

06/30/11 Received AOS check list. Missing DS-230. (It was sent 06/23/11)

07/07/11 Case Complete per AVR and operator. Waiting for interview date.

08/01/11 Per NVC Operator Interview date 09/28/11

09/26/11 Medical test. Passed!!!!

09/28/11 Interview date @ BGT embassy. Approved!!!!!!!

10/06/11 Visa arrived.

10/19/11 Arrived to USA. POE ORLANDO

11/14/11 Received Green Card

Hi Keepfaith,

In answer to your questions/concerns:

-More likely than not, the USCIS will give you sufficient notice (either after your interview, or in a separate letter shortly afterwards) for your oath date, so you can plan accordingly based on that date given.

-If you have an interview scheduled in the morning, and your local office does same day oaths, then you could possibly get a same day oath in the afternoon, which means you don't have to take another day off for such.

-You can postpone your oath (other VJers have done it too) for a time that is more convenient for such, if you cannot go as scheduled. As long as you don't mind a delay in having your oath later than expected, and aren't in too much of a hurry to get citizenship, then you're fine there. Be prepared though, that the wait for a new oath date could be quick, or it could be a lot later. As long as you're willing to take this risk, especially more so since you've come so far in the process...

-The best option (in my opinion): You can you ask your boss to if you can take the day off for the oath, and go as scheduled. I'm sure if your boss is understanding, they will able to accomidate for such. After all, they don't want to lose you as an important employee of their workplace, just because you are going to be a citizen, right? Lol..the medical community needs more people like you, and more so that they medical workers who are citizens of this country too!

Thanks. Now thinking about how to get leave as I am in difficult situation per my medical field. Also the fact that I still do not know about the Oath date. If get it close to interview date by luck then even more difficult to get emergency leave.

2009 ( 9 Months Baby Wait) "Expected": Baby. It's a Boy, Baby A !!! We Are Family, Ant+D+BabyA !

2009 ( 4 Months) "Moved": New House Constructed and Moved Into.

2009 ( 2 Months N-400 Wait) "Naturalized": US Citizenship, Certificate of Naturalization. Goodbye USCIS!!!!

***Ant is a Naturalized American Citizen!!***: November 23, 2009 (Private Oath Ceremony: USCIS Office, Buffalo, NY, USA)

2009 (<1 Month) "Secured": US Citizen SSN Card.

2009 (<1 Month) "Enhanced": US Citizen NYS 8-Years Enhanced Driver's License. (in lieu of a US Passport)

2010 ( 1 Month) "Voted": US Citizen NYS Voter's Registration Card.
