Thanks for updating your information on the list! :thumbs:

Congrats to those who had their checks/cheques cashed in (yeah, I know it sucks to lose the money, but at least they are doing something).

Congrats to those who got their NOAs (they got your file...now the journey starts...)

Congrats to those who got the mystery RFE/Biometrics (the next stage of the process...the journey continues...)

Congrats to thosw who are going for their biometrics soon (the sooner this gets done, the sooner for an interview and oath...)

Likewise, good luck at your biometrics today too. Oh my..4 hours seem like a long drive to get there, indeed! Hope they don't mess up this time for you either, as travelling there again and having your file delayed just because of their error is not worth it.

And yes, do post about your biometrics experience when you get back...Looking forward to reading about that...Code 1 this time, right? Be sure to pick up the study guide/book/cd too!

Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for my RFE/biometrics letter in the mail..hope I get that soon...

Interestingly, got only one fingerprint notification (both my wife and I applied together) - probably will get the other one in the mail tomorrow.....online status for both shows as RFE's having been sent out on September 24th.

Hi Everyone,

Just to update and let all you VJers know that....

This afternoon (9/28/09), in the midst of a heavy rainstorm, my husband decided to drive the van over to the mailbox to pick up the mail (note: our mailbox is literally a mile away from our actual house..we live in a rural/country area...). A few minutes later, he came back through the sliding glass back door, somewhat soaked and in his hand there is a pile of wet envelopes...(lol..gee, how come my mail is always wet, for some reason or other..)

"What's in the mail? Is there a letter from immigration?", I ask, as I take that pile of wet envelopes from his hand...

I find an envelope from the USCIS in blue lettering, (postmarked 9/24/09) from Missouri, open the envelope,

And I read the letter as follows:

To process your application, USCIS must take your fingerprints and have them cleared by the FBI. PLEASE APPEAR AT THE BELOW APPLICAATION SUPPORT CENTER AT THE APPOINTED DATE AND TIME TO HAVE YOUR FINGERPRINTS TAKEN. If you are unable to appear at this time, you may go on any following Wednesday at the same time noted below, as long as you appear before 01/06/2010. So ok, now that I have my Fingerprints/Biometrics Notice for my N-400, I was also wondering the following:

1) For those of you who got Fingerprints/Biometrics Notices for your N-400, did it look something like this?

2) The priority date/notice date on my NOA was for September 15th, but for my fingerprints letter is September 11th. Is this ok? Will it make a difference?

3) What the heck is an "Alien Registration Card", (as I don't have one of those)? Do they mean "green card" instead? Or do they mean something else?

4) Is this biometrics leter actually the "RFE letter" (as noted on CRIS, and I also mentioned about it here which I got that RFE notice for: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...;#entry3352841) that I'm supposed to get? Or am I supposed to get another RFE letter or something else that I missed from the USCIS too?

On that note, I also made an infopass appointment this week (for 09/30/09), to get to the bottom of this..

Do they want my fingrprints/biometrics? Do they want additional evidence from an RFE? Do they want both? Do they want something else?.. :unsure: ..

Not good at all... :wacko:

Lol...looks like I'll be heading off on a long-distance drive to Buffalo, sooner than expected...in the rain..and with baby in tow..oh my....

Will keep you all updated as to what happens next....I'll get to the bottom of this RFE/Biometrics mystery!

Any other thoughts, ideas, suggestions, humour, jokes, appreciated too....

P.S. I couldn't help but notice that they changed the vocabulary on their letters to make things "simplier" for us immigrants..."fingerprints" instead of "biometrics"...funny.... :lol: What an "improvement" in the system! (sarcasm...lol..as if we knew what "biometrics" were in the first place...)

Guys:

I just came back from Jacksonville. We can not believe we had to travel 8 hours to spend 10min. in the immigration office. The people was really nice. They asked me if i have been studyinng, and I said yes. They said that in 2 weeks I should receive my interview letter. They took my 10 fingers biometrics. They did not take any pictures. the status in the web site is the same as before. So i will keep checking to see if any change on it.

I will keep you post about my interview.

If you are going on the 30th you should ask for early fingerprints. Hopefully they will let you do it. :whistle:

Hi Maryces21,

Glad to hear that your fingerprints went well today! Thanks for sharing that experience here on VJ and for saying that it is only 10 fingers (no photos..yeah..don't have to look good for that day..lol..). What a waste it is for you, to drive 8 hours just for 10 minutes! Oh well, glad you got that over with! Hope you get your interview letter soon too. Keep us updated, and keep on checking online too. Hope they didn't mess up your bio this time around either.

Lol..as for the 30th for me...seriously, am mainly going to get to the bottom of this rfe/biometrics thing..still worried about it, I admit..It's a 4 hour drive for me/us to get there...not looking forward to going back again 2 weeks later....fingers crossed (and cleaned) for same day bio/fingerprints too (done a early/walk-in bio for the I-751 there..should be ok this time around for the N-400 too? Not too many people in Buffalo, after all..lol...).
