Ok let me specify. She needs the visa to do this right? I read you can do the seminar then just get the sticker. But it sounds silly to go do two trips since it's apparently pretty far.

I just want my fiance here!!! Almost there.

Hi GD21.

Yes it would be easier for her if she had the visa in hand already. If she starts early, she can get it done at the same day.

Your girl has to attend the Guidance and Counselling session either at the SMEF-COW or at PRISM; no appointment needed here...she can walk in anytime. When she has attended it, SMEF-COW or PRISM will issue her a blue certificate of attedance. At SMEF-COW, CFO has a satellite office at the back of their building where she will be asked to obtain the green certificate. She needs both the blue and green certificates in order to proceed with the next step.

When she has her visa in her passport, she then has to attend the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar at the CFO (she has to book that 5 days in advance). After the PDOS, they will issue her CFO sticker. You can view information about the PDOS here: http://www.cfo.gov.ph/emig_manila.htm

Ok so here's my plan. She's passed the interview and we're waiting on the visa. Apparently you have to book one of these meetings 5 days in advance so she's going to book it for next Thursday. Hopefully the visa shows up by then, if it doesn't she just cancels for later. Then On thurs she goes and does all this CFO stuff and can fly out on Friday night at 10 pm like we had planned. Is that a good plan?

Ok so no 5 days for the prism. But the CFO thing yes. So your friend who went to alaska had booked the CFO thing that you did that afternoon, after the prism thing, 5 days ahead?

So do they have to go to St. Mary's to get this sticker? Are there places around Manila to do this thing? Thank.

Hi there GD21 :D

It would be best if she has her passport with visa with her already when she goes to the seminar.. tell her not to forget her immigrant data summary.. she can attend at St. Mary’s or at Prism office.. Here’s what I’ve learned about the two offices:

--At St. Mary’s: you can attend the seminar and get the sticker at the same time in the same office.. you don’t need to proceed to CFO main to get the sticker..

--At PRISM: attend the seminar then you still have to go to CFO main to get your sticker.. (CFO main is nearby Prism office)..

--You can also go to CFO main for the seminar but I think you have to set an appointment with them..

You can choose whichever is closest to her place or whichever is more convenient for her..

Also, if she can download the registration form at the CFO website have her do so and let her fill it out before going to the seminar.. that would save her time to get the sticker..

Also don’t forget the payment:

P250 for the seminar (yellow certificate of attendance)

P400 for the sticker and green certificate

Don’t worry this process will not take a whole day..

You’ll soon be with your love..

Good luck and God bless.. :D

Thanks to all.

So what's the thing we need to book 5 days in advance? this whole deal won't take a whole day, understand that. She goes to PRISM, no appointments, does some thing where she gets warned about the USA and gets some papers, understand that. Then she goes to CFO with said papers and gets a sticker for her visa, understand that.

I don't get why 5 days come into play.

From what I hear she can get the visa packet go to PRISM, then go to CFO, then go to the airport and depart. Is this correct?
