LoLa (F) i forgot we both have the same timeline....I don't have a US BC either i was not born here i became USC through my Parents :( ...I wonder does that make a difference?? :( i wonder if they have some kind of priority for US born USC??

No - if anything, a recently naturalised petitioner may have theirs processed quicker because they've just been through the whole name/background check thing?

'sides my HHH is US born. Not making a difference here.

Dontwhateverme! lol Okay sure, only if that was the case....

I am recently naturalized, and to let you know about my name check for my N400 citizenship application, i was stuck in name check for 4 damn years until i sued them. and now i am in their hands again, and my time line is same as yours , so that makes my case no quickie.

maybe this time again they will hold my life for dont know how long in name check hell.

Recent naturalization dont make it quicker for sure..

My hubby is a natural born USC too -- not making a damn difference.

I'd heard that theory about very recently naturalized citizens. There's one September filer who got his NOA2 in 7 days (check Igor's) because he just became a USC and his background checks were recent.

NOA2 in 7 days? just because background checks were recently done?

I dont think background checks expire after some time, so they have to re do it when you file .Once background check is done no matter how long ago, it should be in their system... PLUS let me add there is no backlog since end of 2008. background checks are done regardless of how lately u were cleared in past.

well for me, uscis would be getting me back for su-ing them last year. maybe, maybe not. but as far as name check goes , US district attorney, told me my name check was completed in 3 days, before my case went infront of judge. 3 days... yep 3 days. YET THEY TOOK 4 YEARS JERKING ME AROUND.

I guess it all depends who has your file, if SHE has your file then she has gone on maternitiy leave for 5 months, and when she gets back to office , she wont be able to find the file anyway. burried under her desk beneath other files. and if HE has your file then its a vacation time. all in all go figure.

I think the kinda full of limbo, and lenghty process and experiance i had with this department, I should consider myself very very lucky, if i get approved/or processed with you sept filers, like you, lola's mssheka etc.

Hopefully, it'll go quicker for you this time. When did you become a USC?

From his timeline, it looks like he had his citizenship oath on the same day as he filed the I-130. Seems like it would make a difference. Say you become a USC in July and file a I-130 in August, there's not much new to run a new background check on, right?

I just wish there was a little more transparency and accountability to this process.

Hey.

well almost a year ago i became USC.

My wife hardly ever asks me about how case is going. she thinks its gonna take long long time for her I130 , because of my lenghty process of citizenship. she knows uscis takes long time.

BUT its really sad that it takes some ppl years and years for someone's half hour mercy.

November was a really slow month. http://cse.ssl.berkeley.edu/igor/vjdata/stats.aspx

I hope they get their act together soon. 14 more business days till Christmas. Come on NOA2!

Does anybody know how long USCIS is closed for the holidays? 25th and the 1st or is that entire week?

24th will be a freebie day off, 25th is the holiday, and the 1st is a gov't holiday. They should be open the rest of the time, but it'll be slow (time to take use/lose leave, etc...)...that is, if they work like a typical fed agency around that time!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

this is the reason why they are always backlogged and have pendings that exceed new receipts X3! They have shut down since september and only process a few new receipts and the very old ones that have been previously neglected. Yet, they are still taking all the days off as holiday, thanksgiving, christmas, hanukkah, kwanza, new year, unused or deferred vacations, sick days and what have you. They will resume work in January and when you call to question why they haven't process your application they will be telling you: we have been backlogged, it is name checks fault, it is the staff on maternity's fault, it is Obama's fault, it is your fault for wanting to marry from abroad and all other bullsh*t! How about it is their fault because some of them work great while majority of them are lazy couch potatoes who hides under the pretense of 5 months processing to put hard working citizens through an immeasurable emotional roller coasters.

If this nov to jan months are gonna be like last years, then we are in for good 200 days +.

No

Like I said on my previous post, expect a surge in application approvals for September,October and some applications prior to it to be processed around January-March (which still fits in their approcimate time frame) with most apps for September filers possible receiving their NOA2's or RFE's around February.

In general, November-December is such a busy month, and with a lot of holidays coinciding in those months along with the anticipation of a much celebrated Holiday, expect productions to go down a little bit. I mean the fact that most September filers are not getting any notice is a clear give away that they are not working on these particualr set of I130's, so for those waiting for NOA2's before X-mas are just wishful thinking (And there's nothing wrong about that). It would be better if you guys would just focus your attention on your family and enjoy the holidays. Put all your anxieties and worries aside, and start fresh next month because 2010 is your year :)

it would have been nice if you have families to celebrate with, for those of us who naturalized and have all our families in abroad there is no joy of the holidays. This is the reason why we paid hard earned dollars for our beloved adopted country to get some our beloved families here in order that we may be happy in the holidays. An approval will make us hopeful, and when we are ignored throughout the holidays we carry our depression throughout the entire happy period, and when we get it after the holidays we take it but the magic is no longer their. So, let the USCIS staff enjoy their holidays at our expense, let them make others who filed after us in October and November have a happy holidays since they've got three heads and we've got just one. It is no wishful thinking to want our approval in December, it is our right since we filed in august and somehow got sept 1st date. It is a shame on them for being prejudice by processing some newer applications while the old ones are left behind. Yeah, i can go on and on, it will not change anything but please choose your words carefully since this is a very sensitive issues, for some of us, like myself I have always worked on the holidays for many years not because I particularly liked to but because I would rather be at work and bury my loneliness at work than to spend it with other families when mine are thousands of miles across the ocean and wish I could be with them or they could be with me. Again, please choose words carefully, when you have a loved one abroad and your hands are tied due to financial and bureacratic conditions the last thing you want to hear is all this excuses WHEN YOU SEE PEOPLE WHO FILED AFTER YOU GOT APPROVED while you had no idea where your file is hanging. Pls, pls, pls, don't get me started because there is a lot running through my head. Last night I dreamed that a USCIS staff told me tha my file was in TIBET while it was just sitting on a desk next to her and she was pulling other because she felt she might need additional work to go through mine... that is how messed up this situation has made my life. Pls choose words wisely, it is always easy to give advice to others since if we are not in their shoes 100%

I just really want to cry now. I can't help it. The unfairness of the process is eating me up. I miss my husband so much that it's practically a constant physical heartache.

I try to be positive, I do, mostly for him. So I guess you can count me as the wishful thinkers.

AAAWWW!!! cry and let it out (F) i found that pretending i'm fine hurts more than just boo hoo crying and then i feel refreshed

so on another note USCIS advised me that they have not touched my file since 090209(I-130) and they updated the info to my I-129F on 11/09/09 due to the high volume of I-130's they got in August they said there is no indication of anything wrong with my file just that i have a lot of people ahead of me and that they have also made some changes in staffing(they might be short staffed) they also advised me that if i don't hear anything by the end of next month to call and they will submit a service request....WOOOOOW!!! i spoke to a OFFICER and now this is how i feel :crying::blink::):whistle::unsure::(:bonk::(:wacko:
