Question for DS230 form-

Do we need to send out the original marriage certificate with the form?

Can we send out notarized copy of it? (I think I have asked this question before)

Does she has to take the original certificates at the time of interview?

All answers are welcome :innocent:

They ask original or certified copy of the original, certified means it comes from the issuer not notarized a third party.

I sent mine original. I couldn't take a chance to get an RFE and delay extra 3 weeks.

Just out of academic interest, did you guys front-load your petitions or are you going to backload at the USEM stage? Is there any truth to this rumor that they sort of already make a judgement by the time it gets to the USEM?

Sort of like:

1) We're good to go.

2) Maybe-maybe not. Possibly 60-40.

3) No way in hell.

Resulting at the USEM stage interview questions such as basic ones like "What's your husband's name?" or date of birth, a little more probing questions so that the CO can make an informed decision about which way to swing in the second option and finally, in the third category, they just choose to *uck with the applicant at will and ask them stuff like the population of IL or your husband's crush in second grade.

I didn't send A LOT of stuff. The basics, three affidavits, 3 wedding pics, 3 non wedding pics, joint bank account statement, and the wedding invitation card.

Hey I awalys thaught you were the husband but now i know.

I only sent in marriage cert and 3 photos of marriage ceremony, thats all. I think one would need more proofs for k visa. but who knows. it all depends on the officer, and what kinda mood he/she is in. I think mostly Male applicants are asked more questions ( i'm talking about india / pakistan ) desi males. and male applicants also go thru AP delay. BUT females hardly get AP.

Just like your hubby my wife never asks me about how the case is going...lol its me who wants it done today.

AND yeah... can you tell me what u have prepared for NVC? so i can try to get it ready as well. and say HI to Biloo ;)

hey, what did u do to get NOA2 in 36 days. :) your NOA1 date is same as mine, and no NOA2 . you are already almost thru NVC. looks like your better half will be with you in 4 to 5 months. from start to finish. yet uscis will take 5 months for us just to send in NOA2 OR RFE.

lucky you. good luck with speedy process.

Well I haven't do nothing special. Lot's of prayers that's all. I hope you will get approved soon too. I never understood why it takes for some people less time and others more. I know it is not fair but i wish it could be done quicker for everybody. I know it is frustrating waiting without your loved one, for example tonight I'm alone in my little apartment watching a movie, instead i could be with my wife now, and enjoy a beautiful dinner outside and go play bowling or do something fun. I wish everyone a speedy process. NVC part i think depends on you whether you send the correct documentation on the first shot or not. I hope i wont get any RFE on my last package but we'll wait and lets see what will happen. God bless everyone.

I have to nag at my husband five times before he gets anything done. I repeat myself a dozen times. It's like talking to a brick wall. He's getting better lately though after I had one massive flip out. It only took one reminder for him to send me his passport copy. LOL.

I got my police certificates. Both of them. India requires 2. Marriage certificates. Hubby has the AOS package ready. Tax forms, W2s, employment letter, bank statements, etc. The forms are all filled out. I864, DS 3032, 230. Just read the guides, mate.

Haha, OMG. How do you know Billoo?

Key--I can't even tell how jealous I am of you. You're waiting for a CASE COMPLETE? Seriously? I'm happy for you. Yes, I am. BUT OMG.

Friends,

We are still waiting to get the status changed from NOA1 to NOA2..We filed on Sep 28th and is still in the initial review-no touches yet... I was just curious to find if CSC started processing Sep'09 filers...Using Hit ya Mis method I cud get the following details:

Case#-LUP-Status

wac09XXX10127-Sep4-approved

wac09XXX12234-Nov4-Approved

wac09XXX10127-Sep11-Approved

wac09XXX11217-Sep10-Approved

wac09XXX10127-July-21 -Initial review

wac09XXX12391- July 29-Initial review

I am not giving the exact number in between where I marked XXX in the above receipt numbers-believe me, its sequential and is less than our receipt number. So I came to conclusion that July processing is still going on and for me it will take another 20-30 days for a touch atleast. Guess what, I tried with another one which is greater than the last receipt number (wac09XXX12391- July 29-Initial review) :wac09XXX11093-Oct28-Approved !!!!!! I am confused with the processing methods used by CSC where old ones are still pending and later ones are getting approved !!!!Anyway, just thought of sharing with u all and hoping for the best.......

I think CSC processing trend is gonna be just like last years. If you look at the I 130 time comparison graph, in sept 2008 was around 100 days, almost like it is this year, and then it went UPPPPPP, NOV and DEC 08 it went up to like 160 to 170 days . They stalled last year just like this year.

Looks like feb, apr, may are the most fastest months, it takes them around 40 days to process.

I think we filed , when their vacation time began. whatever it is... I hope they all have Great holidays, so when they start back, they approve the cases instead of generating RFE's in bad moods.

after waiting this long, me no wantay the RFE,ay.

SACHINKY.... whats up with you. looks like you keeping yourself busy huh? I wasnt a bollywood movies fan, but since i filed i watch alot of movies so i can try not to think about my application...hehehe.

Last night I saw QURBAAN, and it was awesome movie. saif and kareena both rock.

UFFF hadd hogaiyee, Intezaar ki !!!

sachinky;

You are submitting I-864, DS-3032 and 230 all at once. I thought you first have to submit DS-3032 and I-864 and once they are approved they will ask you for 230.

I will receive my DS-3032 signed by my wife on Saturday and will mail it out along with I-864 on Tuesday.

I saw Kurbaan too. Thought it was quite good. Looking at a temporary job currently to keep me occupied.

And no, I'm not sending DS3032 and DS 230 together. I just meant I have it all ready in different packets to be sent out as and when required.

Is CSC closed Thursday AND Friday? Or just for Thanksgiving?

Happy Turkey Day, guys! I want me some turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes with butter and pecan pie with CoolWhip! AAAH.

I'm still here =D!! Just wanna greet everyone a great Happy Thanksgiving ^^.

Looking at Igor's List, it seems like some are getting their NOA2 within a month while others up to 3-4 months. I'm trying to find a trend but still don't seem to understand how some people get their approvals faster than others regardless of who filed first. I guess some adjudicators at the service centers simply process faster than others, or end up with more simpler (no red flags) cases than others.

I still consider myself simply "lucky". Hope everyone else here in the September filers club get their approvals at least before Christmas. I'm sure that would be a really great gift for all =D..
