Traveling while ROC pending

So I am looking for ticket to visit my mom, prices seems to be going down now, yea.

Should I wait for GK?

It seems almost hopeless, as I am in VSC, to rely that I will get it any time soon.

So I just take my old GK and my NOA year extension letter with me, and I should be good?

What if during that time I am there they will appoint interview? (Although, we never had interview in my AOS)

Has anyone done that here?

Will I have some sort of interview in customs,

or they as soon as they scan my card will have all the information already available?

It seems repeat question, but I could not find information in USCIS home page about the procedure.

Also, I know there has been talks about traveling and it is supposedly fine, but I have not seen reply from somebody who did it him(her)self.

09/07/2006 - Warsaw embassy sent packet 3 (damn post services, never received any)

11/7 - arrived in USA, POE YFK

02/23/2007 - Civil Surgeon (checked just vaccines for $ 25)

05/04/2007 - AOS package sent to Chicago

05/11/2007 - NOA1

05/15/2007 - NOA2 - ASC appointment letter about biometrics

05/24/2007 - RFE about tax forms w-2 and 1099!!!

06/05/2007 - Biometrics

21/06/2007 - NOA3 - Transfered to California

10/07/2007 - AOS approved, card production ordered!!!

19/07/2007 - Half year marriage anniversary - GC arrives!!!

07/08/2009 - Package sent (My cover letter 40 peaces of evidence)

07/14/2009 - check was cashed

07/10/2009 - NOA 1 received, GK extended for a year

07/17/2009 - received biometrics letter with my case number

08/06/2009 - scheduled biometrics appointment

11/16/2009 - approval

12/01/2009 - touched - card production ordered

2/26/2010 - got ten year card

No more departures!!!

No more typing!!!

What is GK? Green Kard? or GC (Green Card?) just kidding I know what you mean...

With your expired green card, the extension letter (NOA1) plus your marriage certificate (asked by some Immigration Officers in several airports to some other visajourney users) you will be fine!

05/25/10 - N-400 package delivered in Phoenix, AZ

06/04/10 - Check cashed

06/10/10 - NOA received

06/16/10 - Case available online

06/17/10 - Case online showing RFE (Biometrics notice) sent on 06/16/10

06/21/10 - Biometrics Letter Received

07/08/10 - Biometrics appointment

07/07/10 - Walk in Biometrics

08/06/10 - Email / Text for for new case status: "Test and Interview"

08/09/10 - Interview Appointment letter received for 09/13/10

09/13/10 - Interview Approved!

09/13/10 - Same Day Ceremony! I am a US Citizen!

I saw on other topics people saying that they traveled with expired green card and the NOA (1 year extension) and they were fine getting back in.

A personal friend of mine also has traveled like that. I think it is important you get the NOA first before traveling, and if you think you won't get it on time, then make an infopass appointment to get the stamp on your passport before you leave.

02/2001 - Met in Europe

08/2004 - Moved to USA

08/2007 - Married in Brazil

09/2007 - Submitted AOS to VSC

12/2007 - AOS approved

09/2009 - Submitted I-751 to CSC

10/2009 - ROC approved (1 month 2 days from receipt date)

12/2010 - Submitted N400

01/2011 - Biometrics (twice)

02/2011 - Citizenship Interview and Civics Test

04/2011 - Oath Ceremony/American Citizen
