My wife and I submitted our I-485 AOS applications, through my wife's company, in 2007. At that time, we did a medical test in the US which omitted the TB and chest X-ray portions for my wife, since she was pregnant at that time. We have now received a response from the USCIS asking for those portions of the medical exam to be completed.

We are currently in India, and will be here at least till the end of the year. We've asked USCIS for an extension to file the missing parts of the medical exam. Instead of having to make a trip back to the US just to complete the medical exam (not easy with a small baby), we wanted to know if we can get the TB/X-ray portions of the exams done by a civil surgeon in India, and send them to the USCIS in the US.

Looking at the medical exam form (I-693), it doesn't state specifically that the civil surgeon must be in the US, only that he must be a civil surgeon.

Does anyone know if it is possible to do a medical exam out of the US for an AOS application filed in the US?

Thanks.
