Goodmorning everyone, I see we were all busy yesterday, including myself, we barely posted anythiing.

sorry for the lack of updates! we have to wait to see when jose luis will be able to go on vacation (because he works on a boat in the galapagos) before we call for an appointment. we're hoping it's early january but it's not a done deal yet. frustrating, especially since i saw another couple who was "on the list" on the consulate website for the same posting day as me already got their interview for Dec. 14th...but we can't do anything until we know when my honey is actually free to attend the interview. oh well...

by the way, i've still been monitoring the case status changes for my week, but haven't posted anything because there had barely been any movement. but i just checked again, and kjenkins86 - i'm happy to report that finally they seem to have started moving again at least on the petitions for 9/21 NOA1. There was nothing happening for like 2 weeks, and then finally this week so far 14 of them have been processed! 18 left for that date. I know you've taken a step away from the anxious waiting, but we're still all pulling for you kjenkins86!!

Mathew will be mailing out our Packet 3 later today. Hopefully this means we'll get an interview in time for our wedding! Surely to goodness we'll have one before June. Right? Right?

hehe, more than likely .. from what Ive seen for Montreal after sending in the Packet 3s I've noticed peoples interviews are only a month or two at most away from the date they sent it in...and I think at most it can take up to 4 months.

So good luck!! You will probably have an interview by February (and I hope sooner for you!!)

Also - I noticed Jenn posted about what to do when your petition expires before your interview date (nice btw I HAD NO IDEA my petition had an expiry date until I saw your question!!!) SO check when your expiry date is for your petition, mine is in February - so if I have a interview after that I'm going to have to find out if it's an automatic adjustment they do - or if our consulate is the one that requires a letter for extention!

Oh my goodness I was completely unaware.

If you and Mathew end up interviewing on the same day I expect you to tell him to fix his hair. I probably wont be there and the poor child has issues if he thinks important people will see his hair messed up, lol. And lint roll! Remind him to lint roll!!! I love his cat, hate her fur.

lmao!!!! - I'm getting really nervous lately.. since I've been on 'interview wait'. I know its just a standard procedure and I'm going to most likely pass - but sometimes I can be so shy and shakey in person because of the anxiety lol.. I can't wait until it's done.

It would be neat if we did have the same interview date and you could be there - it'd be nice to meet you =)

And again, thanks for the cheer. My hope now is to atleast get our approval by the end of the year so we'll have something to celebrate about while I'm there w/ him.

Kayla: Immigration is slow but not that slow... Of course you'll be able to have your wedding by June!

I must have missed something too. I didn't know the petition has an expire date either.

So what tells us when it expires, and what do we do if it does before the interview?

on the NOA2 notice, it says something like, "Valid from xx date to xx date" - basically it's valid for four moths.

I called DOS and they said I didn't have to do anything and that it would automatically have the date extended.. but after reading through the forums, this is not the case for all consulates. To play it safe, I also sent a letter to the consulate asking for an extention. There is a sample letter in the K1 Guides. I used this and had it notarized.. then stuck it in the mail.

I know DOS said I didn't have to do anything.. but figured it couldn't hurt!

Oh.. I am so happy right now! I was supposed to go on a business trip to Istanbul a few weeks ago, but the trip got cancelled. This last trip to Hong Kong gave me enough frequent flyer miles for a free ticket to Turkey.. so I just booked my flight!!

I'll go to Istanbul Dec 11 -16! Yeah..

I wanted to come back the 17th or 18th, but no flights with seats available.. but right now I don't care. We haven't seen each other since May 13th.. I would fly there for one day if that's all I could do. Heck I think I would make the trip if I could only have one hour.

Montreal has been so backed up with interviews that some people have been waiting 4-6 months for theirs. They've seemed to have sped up, but if they kept at the pace they were going it would be very possible that we'd miss our wedding date. That's the awful thing about it. A country so close can take so long to approve a K-1.

But if they're going faster like what Oobatnep said, then yay for us!!!!

That's great news. Have fun and enjoy your time there. If I could I would travel to see my Joanna in Poland and make a stop in the UK to see my parents and brother. I haven't seem them or my fiancee since July when I was in Poland. Holidays are going to suck this year as I don't have any family in the states anymore. Work has become my friend lately as I been working 60-65 hours a week with no days off for the last few months. Come to think of it I only had 5 days off since coming back to the States in late July.

Good luck everyone that is wanting for their NOA2 and interview dates hope they all come soon. We are waiting for our interview date hopefully we will know soon when that's going to be.

I passed my medical today! It was a pretty painless process with A LOT of waiting time! I really hope to hear good news from all of you soon Hopefully things speed up as people get in the holiday spirit!
