Okay, Kayla I think you asked this and I think I answered... but now I'm confused again =(

It says on the checklist about divorce documents and Affidavit Support form and all that and to not send it in and to just bring them with you to the interview....

but then DS-156K says it needs the following attached:

birth certificate

divorce certificate

police certificate

evidence of financial support

which is all the documents on the checklist!! I'm sorry if I seem stupid.. lol.. but do I send them NOW or take them with me like the cover letter said??

oy

I've been sick so I haven't been on here! Sorry.

You guys can add me too, it's mystic.scientific@hotmail.com for facebook

Also - Fax?! We can fax our packet 3 into the consulate?!?! omg..

Naples, Italy allows it but not all consulates do..

Thanks for the facebook adds, and I'll have to find out if Montreal does I guess..

HI EVERYONE!

Just got to Hong Kong about an hour go.. got to the hotel called Fuat, and then came right to VJ to see if there was any good news from yesterday. I am on the other side of the world and this site is still first priority (OK.. second next to calling Fuat :)

I'm exhausted after the 24 hours of traveling..two flights with longest flight being 15 hours UGH! Sure makes my flights to Istanbul seem like a short trip down the road.

Most of you are still sleeping... but when you wake I hope you have a great Thanksgiving! I'm off to bed soon (it's 8:00pm here) and need to sleep a little before I get out of bed at 3:00am to get on the web cam with Fuat. I am crazy... and when he finds out what time it is for me he's going to be upset.. but he's worth it :)

have a great day.

GOSH ! You got your NOA2 approved in less than a month ? Congratulations !

Yes, AR and MD some people actually do get through sme steps faster than some, he might've had a quick noa2 but he may have his interview a long way from here. (Not to jinx you Oobatnep, just giving an example)

Well. I guess my good feeling this morning was only about me shopping, because I DID NOT recieve me well awaited noa2 text!

Yes... but then it has taken longer than that just to go from NVC to the consulate and then getting an interview date. Some people wait a long time for NOA2, but then everythign else flies. I got NOA2 so fast.. but people who got it after me already have interview dates. It all kind of evens out in the end I think.

JennFuat:not for confrontation but I don't think it evens out, maybe I'm saying so because it's been two months and haven't received my noa2 yet. I also depends on how fast you return the forms/papers they request after the noa2. Anyhow, at the end of the day, wheteher the journey is long or short, it is still frustrating, heart wrenching, COSTLY and I could go on and on but later for now.

By the way, how's hong kong?

I think I read somewhere that the DS-156K needs to be brought with you to the interview and that you only really have to send in 2 things with packet 3. It was somewhere on the canada forums. Wish I could find it now...

So Packet 3 still hasn't gotten to Mathew!!! He lives in LAVAL, for crying out loud. How hard can it be?? He says he can get mail from his parents in Rouyn-Noranda faster than he can get mail from Montreal. That's crazy!

I see what Jenn was saying here. I don't think you're understanding her correctly.

Take for instance if someone got their NOA2 in 12 days. Then it took 38 days to do the rest of the process, making it 50 days total. Then take another person and imagine it took them 38 days to get NOA2 and then the rest of their process only took 12 days, making that one 50 days as well.. That's what she meant. Either way, it would even out to be 50 days. Of course, it'd be nice to have the entire thing done in 50 days, but I'm just using that as an example.

Hi Kayla, I understood what Jenn meant; I just don't agree and as I said before, maybe I don't agree because I haven't gotten my NOA2 but now as I type, I see her point and you both make sense.

hey guys,

just saying hello! hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving! for me it was great to see my family, but i missed my love terribly and i just hope that next year jose luis will be in the empty seat beside me.

things have been moving along now with our petition. it's been received by the consulate, and already our number is up on their website with indicates that they have mailed out our PK4 letter, and that we can download packet and when we have everything ready we can call for an appointment.

i've heard that recently a couple folks who tried to book an appointment at this consulate right away encountered some delays because their information wasn't in a particular system yet, so i'm not sure if that will happen to us. right now we're still waiting to see when his vacations will be so hopefully once we know we'll be able to schedule the interview. so, still hoping for a january interview! :)

hope everyone enjoys their sunday...

:)

hi everyone! I've just discovered the site a little while ago and its so nice to not feel alone. My fiance and I have had a long road. I was married but separated when I met him, and it took a long time to get my divorce finalized, so now 2 year later and with a 13 month old baby.... we have finally filed our papers. We filed in Sep and are still waiting for the NOA2....its very frustrating to feel so close and yet not really. I have a few questions, if anyone can answer them.

1. I'm confused about the Packet 3. will I receive any info here in the US? I'm afraid the mail won't get to his home. Its a bit out there, and we've had problems before. how will I know if the packet was mailed out?

2. I've read that some people schedule an interview....is the date not just given to you? I will have to call to schedule it or wait till they send me the date?

3. how old can the police certificate be from Mexico. My fiance will be in a different town/state up until the interview. Can he get the police paper now before he leaves, or will he need a more updated one later?

thanks everyone! hope we get some good news this week!

Goodmorning everyone, hope we all had a great thanksgiving and weekend.

Gaynto:CONGRATULATIONS!! That's not far from now, I really do wish you the best of luck!

Guys, I have a personal question.... It's a decision that me & my love should make but I'd just like to hear you guys opinion since we're all on the same journey.

Okay, here goes: I'm going to Jamaica to see my honey for 2 wks, we're spending christmas AND new years together.

We plan on trying to get pregnant while I'm there.

BUT, I'm having 2nd thoughts bcoz we haven't gotten our NOA2 yet I'm not sure how long this whole process is going to take before he's here with me...

My point is, I'd hate to go through pregnancy and even worse, delivery without him.

What do you guys think?

I probably wouldn't personally, but that's because Mathew has stressed to me how important it is for him to be here through the whole thing. He doesn't want to miss any of it, and I don't want him to either. I think I'd feel like during the nine months the baby was "baking in the oven", it would be getting used to his voice and somehow "know" her(I say her because we want a girl) daddy. If he weren't here it would be like they had a lot of catching up to do.

Anyway, I know it's weird, but that's just the way I look at it.

If he's comfortable with missing most of the pregnancy and maybe the birth then I say go for it. But make sure you're prepared as well.

CONGRATS Gaynto!!! :dance::dance:

Welcome Stasia! Glad you found this site. It does make a huge difference knowing you're not alone.

All countries do things differently, and I really don't know how Mexico handles thier packages. However, to show how different countries can be I can tell you that my son received package 3 not his fiancee', they were assigned a date for the interview, and Iran is not required to have a police certificate.

I would like to wish you both luck on your journey.
