Who here is interviewing in Montreal?! I just received my Packet 3....

Hopefully Packet 3 will be in Mathew's mailbox this week. But we'll be interviewing there.

Dont wait for packet 3 LOL........ it doesnt contain anything.. and they wont setup interview until they receive the document. All they do is list the website for each form you need.

(besides the checklist they give you and you need to bring with you)

So my suggestion to you and Matthew - Submit the forums to the embassy now :P It'll speed up getting your interview date - wasting time waiting for packet 3

ooh pictures! do we get to see? :)

yeah the first week after being together again is especially tough. nowadays though i feel like every day is tough - it's weird, at some point i just stopped being able to sleep without him next to me. don't remember the last time i had an unbroken, good night's sleep here in my own bed. but you know, the longest i've gone without seeing jose luis is about 4.5 months - we've done that twice and both times it was excruciating. i can't imagine 7 months apart. :(

in currently trying to swing a long weekend in ecuador for new years. people think i'm crazy to fly so far for only a few days (it would be my third 'long weekend' type trip there!). but i'm sure you guys can understand why.

I don't think you're crazy :) My mother thinks I am insane.. and she keeps saying, "Normal people go to NYC for a weekend.. YOU go to Istanbul!"

I've done it.. Leave late on a Thursday night, get there on Friday afternoon and leave on Monday morning. You gotta do what you gotta do... and if it means taking a 14 hour flight to spend two days together.. it's worth it!!

I had almost everything done, and ready to go, before our packet even reached the consulate. Fuat absolutely refused to send it until we had official word.. and that seemed to take forever!! If I didn't have to have his signature on all those forms, I would have just mailed the darn thing myself :)

Heck, with more men signatures just look like chicken scratches anyway. They probably wouldn't have noticed a difference, lol.

ugh..

You are kidding? I know they want to make it a requirement for all females 12 years + (up to age 21 I think) and a lot of people are really fighting this.

I'm a little confused on the whole vaccination thing. Some things I have read state you have to have the vaccinations before getting the K1 and some things say it's optional and not really required until you do AOS.

I wish I could get a firm answer on this. He had his vaccinations when he did his army service, but has no documentation to prove it. Not sure if showing the documents that prove he did his military service will be enough to prove he had the vaccinations. The cost for these is outrageous in Turkey.. he doesn't want me to help him with any of the financial stuff to be taken care of on his end, but if he has to have the vaccinations we may not have a choice. The vaccinations alone cost almost twice as much as the medical.

On the DS-160 it asks for a national identification number. Does it not apply or do we put the alien registration number that's listed on the NOA2???

Does Canada have a national identificaiton number? Turkey does... It's kind of like having a soc. # and remains with you for life.

What's the DS 160? Must not have been a form I had to do. I'm going to check it out. Now, you have me paranoid that we didn't send something.. but that wasn't on our list :)

Yeah I got the list of what they want it says us law requires before they will issue the immigrant visa.. and it's on it.. the only thing is you can provide the interviewer with moral beliefs or religious beliefs as to why you wont get a vaccination.

I honestly.. don't believe in hpv at this time.

So.. you get to go to one of those FANCY consulates that has the online registration :) You had me a little worried, but now I see the DS160 is the online form that is replacing the DS 156.

If Canada doesn't have a national identification number, leave it blank.. they are asking for the Canadian number. I did not have to put Fuat's Alien Registration number on any of the forms. Of course.. the DS 160 could be different from what I filled out, so maybe one of the other Canadian's can answer this better than me.

I don't believe in it too much either. Has not been used long enough to prove anything as far as I am concerened..and I think about some of the drugs they thought everyone should have, only to find out 10 years down the road about the side effects.

I am definitely not impressed that I was forced to get the HPV vaccine either...I just went and got my first dose about an hour ago. It is far too expensive and way too new of a vaccine. But..I am not going to risk failing my medical just because I am against it.

You don't have to do any vaccinations but at the time of the AOS you will have to have them down so you can get adjusted as they won't let you. The K-1 Visa is an non immigrantion visa it only becomes it when the marriage is done over here. The thing is DOS state tells you it's a good idea to do it back in your home country as most times it's going to be cheaper for you.

The cost for these is outrageous in Turkey.. he doesn't want me to help him with any of the financial stuff to be taken care of on his end, but if he has to have the vaccinations we may not have a choice. The vaccinations alone cost almost twice as much as the medical.

You don't have to do any vaccinations but at the time of the AOS you will have to have them down so you can get adjusted as they won't let you. The K-1 Visa is an non immigrantion visa it only becomes it when the marriage is done over here. The thing is DOS state tells you it's a good idea to do it back in your home country as most times it's going to be cheaper for you.

good to know! I have all my vaccinations but that one I think anyway
