okay... I just realized this...

I'm going to miss Tim Hortons and poutine so much when I move to the states!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :crying:

lol

lol Hell yeah!!

There's actually a few Tim Ho's in the states. I know the last time I checked the farthest south that they go is Ashland, KY(yay KY!!!), but that was before the opening of the Fort Knox location. I think they only go many one or two states West of Kentucky as well. But at least there IS some!!!

He'll miss poutine like crazy. I, on the other hand took lots of pictures of my breakfast at Cora's and my dinner at St. Hubert(my favorite thing in the WORLD). I think I may miss Canada more than him, lol.

Matt looooooves St Hubert. That's where Im taking him for dinner the day he arrives.

We went to Scores before I left, but it's just not the same. I think the chicken is more tender at St. Hubert or something. But the gravy should be in it's own freakin food group, it's so good. Yummmmm.

I'm uploading pictures from my visit, but I just noticed that we didn't take any pictures together. :( :( I guess we got so wrapped up in being together and spending time together that we just didn't pay any attention. Maybe we'll get another visit before the wedding, because right now he's just in misery. I am too, but I'm trying to be the strong person. I guess it hurts so bad because we're bracing ourselves to not see each other for 7 months. We'll see.

But I really think we need to see each other one more time, preferably before the interview so that we can get some more pictures for him to take as evidence. I sent every picture we had of us with the initial packet. I think it would be bad if we didn't have any new ones when he went.

Okay USCIS, let's get the ball rolling!!!

OOhh.. do you have pictures of you in the same place, even if you are not in the photo together? I don't think those do much good, but it is better than nothing.

Glad you had a good time.. sorry you are in misery. Me too... every day for the last six months and just waiting until we can see each other again.

 Man..bubye healthcare, fantastic coffee, poutine and incredible french toast

yes... and buttery flaky croissants and delicious éclairs au chocolat.... that shows love right there.

They sell St Hubert gravy at the supermarket. It's probably not quite as good as the one they serve at the restaurant, but when I drive down with my stuff, I intend on bringing some so I can make homemade poutine if I find the right cheese.

ooh pictures! do we get to see? :)

yeah the first week after being together again is especially tough. nowadays though i feel like every day is tough - it's weird, at some point i just stopped being able to sleep without him next to me. don't remember the last time i had an unbroken, good night's sleep here in my own bed. but you know, the longest i've gone without seeing jose luis is about 4.5 months - we've done that twice and both times it was excruciating. i can't imagine 7 months apart. :(

in currently trying to swing a long weekend in ecuador for new years. people think i'm crazy to fly so far for only a few days (it would be my third 'long weekend' type trip there!). but i'm sure you guys can understand why.

Hmm...I'm getting a mental image now of Mathew driving down with his car full of St. Hubert gravy in a can, and him whining the whole way about the massive amount of money he had to pay the border guy to let him through, lol.

I can dream!

Hahaha! He could try to bribe the border guy with a few cans!

Matt tried to get me to bring him frozen croissants before. I had too long of a layover for it to be worth it though.

Why 7 months before you see each other again? Dont tell me you expect Montreal to take that long

Well, considering that the embassy information page on VJ says that it takes 4-6 months to get an interview there, and based on the wait of other people before me, it'll probably at least be feb. before he gets an interview.

But he doesn't graduate from engineering school until next April. After that, CAE gave him the option to stay on after his co-op and work part time while he goes to school. His dad said that since he'll be in school that he'll pay his apartment rent. So anything that he makes while working at CAE would go towards our wedding and living costs afterward. And since he's making $22 an hour, he's decided that he wants to stay at long as he can so he can make as much money as possible.

I think it's mostly guilt over the fact that we'll be living off of my salary until his work authorization comes through. But I support him.

well I guess it makes sense and at least, if you already have the visa, it will be a huge weight off your shoulders. And what's a couple of months more when you have the rest of your life to be together (that's why I try to tell myself...).

If you are trying to find cheap flights to come see him again, sometimes flying to Burlington, Vt can be a good option. It is a bit of pain in the @ss because you have to take the bus afterwards, but the flights can be much cheaper depending on deals going on at the time.
