I haven't been very active in this, and I think that's helped me stay patient. Now I see that many people are getting NOA 2, so I'm getting pretty excited that something is going to happen soon.

Did any other petitioners get letters from their senators or congress person? I got one of each. I don't know if it helps much, but it can't hurt. Basically the politician will send a letter to the processing center (or probably to the foreign country if it's already there) saying they're concerned and they want to know what happens. The Embassy's are REQUIRED to respond, i.e. contact the politician when a decision is made. It's good because as I understand it there is an appeal process for the Fiance visa, so if it came to that, it's good to have your representative involved early.

We actually had a letter of invitation, from a State Senator, the second time we applied for the visitor visa. Didn't help.. still denied. Didn't get a letter this time, but haven't needed it so far. If we get denied at the interview, we will appeal and I will definately get some involvement at that time!

Just like you we got a senator's letter for the second visitors visa and it didn't help. But since we did that then, all it took was a 1 min phone call to get one with the fiance visa. can't hurt.

I'm SHOCKED that there aren't any NOA2's for this week yet....

As if my week can get any worse, I was robbed of my wallet lastnight, I lost $400 in cash and $300 in disability check!!

I swear, not even a NOA2 would make me feel better right now. I lost everything!

It's a good thing I recently received did my citizenship, so I had that and my passport to use as ID @ motor vehicles.

Pray for me everyone!

OMG, that stinks... I am hoping that some luck goes your way!!!

Is anyone here planning to go to the interview with your fiancee?

I'm debating. I'm leaning towards not, since it is such a huge, potentially unnecessary expense. We don't have a unique case or anything, so there should be no reason for it not to be approved.

If finances are looking good, though, I may go. I have not officially proposed yet (due to distance), but it is our intention to get married. I plan on proposing with a ring and everything next time I see her. I'm wondering if it is bad if she doesn't have a ring when she goes to the embassy. In reviewing embassy reviews I haven't read anything about people being asked 'how he proposed'.

Has everyone here already 'officially' proposed? Has anyone not? I just refuse to propose over skype.

Actually, several people who went through my consulate were asked questions like "when did he propose" or "when did you decide to get married". I do not have a ring, and there are many, many people on VJ who have said they do not either.. it is not important to have one, so I wouldn't worry about that. If we were asked why we did not have a ring, we would say that we felt we would rather spend the money on all of this than worrying about a ring. But, I am not worried about that question coming up at all. If it does.. it does.

Now as far as a "proposal".. I don't want to make Fuat sound like he is not romantic... Oh my gosh he is.. but proposals are not done the same way in Turkey, so was not something that really happened for us. We kind of just started talking about "one day when we get married".. and just kept talking that way until we decided to file.

He's like a little kid with a secret he can't keep.. and told me what he plans to do when he comes. He wanted to surprise me, but just couldn't keep quiet. He told the that when he gets off the plane he planned to say somethign like this:

"When you have come to see me you come for a few days.. Now I have come to you.. and I will stay forever".

As far as I am concerned.. that's the best "proposal" I could have ever asked for :)

I called DOS again and the woman I talked to was so nice.. but she said that the system still shows that my file was sent DHL on 10/27 and has not reached the Consulate yet.

So.. I told her that DHL is showing every file to the consulate, mailed between 10/27 and 11/2, has been received.. and that someone I knew in Turkey checked and said it was there.. but that she is still showing it has not arrived. I also told her that NONE of the packages listed on DHL weighed the same amount my packet did and that I was worried maybe it hadn't actually shipped.. or somethign was wrong.

She told me that if DHL was showing all those packages delivered that it probably was already there and the system just wasn't showing it.. and that happens sometimes. She said not to worry and to keep calling every day until I get the answer I want. I assured her I was going to call every day, and then I was thinking maybe I will have Kayla call too :)

Well take shifts.. Send me the data, and we will aggravate them until someone says "Good HEAVENS!! Would someone please go to the damn mailroom and find this chicks file. NOW!"

 Oh, that's great..

How about this for a schedule:

Calls to USCIS: Call and ask where are the approvals for Alex, Karen and Gayla

I'll call every hour, on the hour, from 9:00am - 11:00am

Kayla calls 11:00am - 1:00pm

Karen calls 1:00pm -3:00pm

Alex calls 3:00pm - 4:00pm

Gayla calls 4:00pm - 5:00pm

Calls To NVC: Call and ask where is the file for Kayla

Kayla calls 9:00am -11:00am

Jenn calls 11:00am - 1:00pm

Alex calls 1:00pm -3:00pm

Karen calls 3:00pm -5:00pm

Gayla calls 5:00pm - 7:00pm

Jenn calls 7:00pm - Midnight ( I'm usually working late.. so I'll take the night shift)

Calls to DOS: Call and ask if Jenn's file is in Turkey yet

Alex calls 9:00am -11:00am

Karen calls 11:00am -1:00pm

Jenn calls 1:00pm -3:00pm

Gayla calls 3:00pm -4:00pm

Kayla calls 4:00pm - 5:00pm

You would not BELIEVE how much down time I get at AT&T. Holidays might be a busy time elsewhere, but we dont do those day after thanksgiving things. I got lots and lots time to annoy USCIS, NVC, AND DOS and still watch cartoons on the big screen TV.

Is anyone here planning to go to the interview with your fiancee?

Unless our interview is scheduled right near his graduation date I wont be able to attend. I planned on taking a week vacation then for his graduation and my other will be used for our honeymoon. :( But as far as I know he'll probably go to work afterwards anyways. I just know his interview will go well. We've got a mountain of evidence(about to be more in 3 days!!!) and there's nothing they could ask that he wouldn't know.
