OH Nydvo!!!!! I do not even know what to say after reading all this.

The first thing I want to say is that if I could find that guy, Nutmagnet, I think I would want to punch him in the face.

Please, please.. don't pay attention to peolpe like that who write viscious comments.. he is obviously an ignorant idiot who doesn't know the difference between trying to give help and being an absolute, rude @#@%^%!@

In reading your fiance's posts, I think you have truly found a wonderful man who will do his best to take care of you.

I wish I had an answer to the problem, but not sure how things come into play when the US law differs from the law of the beneficiaries country. From what I have read, US law will observe the other countries law when it comes to marriage. I dont want to make it sound bad.. I just don't know.

Nydvo really needs our prayers and support! My thoughts are going to be with you until we know what happened at the interview.

So, I got a flury of emails from my lawyer this morning, filling out forms and sending to them. They said that my paperwork is at the consulate (which I already knew) and that my interview will likely be scheduled for sometime in 2-6 weeks (YIKES!). That is very soon!!! By the end of this week I should know the interview date and then I got to get some time off from work, buy ticket for going to Rio a couple days prior to the interview... aaaaaaa... I want to be there when my fiancee goes through the interview. I am in a state of surprise and panic...

I haven't been very active in this, and I think that's helped me stay patient. Now I see that many people are getting NOA 2, so I'm getting pretty excited that something is going to happen soon.

Did any other petitioners get letters from their senators or congress person? I got one of each. I don't know if it helps much, but it can't hurt. Basically the politician will send a letter to the processing center (or probably to the foreign country if it's already there) saying they're concerned and they want to know what happens. The Embassy's are REQUIRED to respond, i.e. contact the politician when a decision is made. It's good because as I understand it there is an appeal process for the Fiance visa, so if it came to that, it's good to have your representative involved early.

We actually had a letter of invitation, from a State Senator, the second time we applied for the visitor visa. Didn't help.. still denied. Didn't get a letter this time, but haven't needed it so far. If we get denied at the interview, we will appeal and I will definately get some involvement at that time!

I had seen that before, but never on a letter submitted with the material, however, I know that if a Congressman's or Senator's office calls an agency, they have 48 hours to respond to them. So it may help, and at Service centers it will speed up the process, but I am not sure if it will speed up in the Embassy. In Brazil at least is moving so fast that I dont think you would need it.

Hey guys I got a heads from another VJer that the Embassy in Napoli is moving very quickly. My question is, besides my income information, what can I begin obsessing over now while I wait for NOA2. I would hate to have to delay an interview because I had not gotten everything ready.

Check out your the web page for your consulate and see what else they require. For Turkey, we had to have the DS-230, DS 156, DS 156K and DS 157 .. the I-134 and supporting documents, police reports, birth certificate, English translations of police report and birth certificate, full photo copy of his passport, a letter of intent from me re-affirming the first letter I wrote for the initail petition.

Most Consulates seem to require the same things, but I have seen some that just say to bring these with you and not send ahead of time. We had everything filled out and ready to go at the same time we got the NOA2.

Kayla & JennFuat, u guys r hilarious about the grumpy woman!

LuisAlice, relax, you've come this far, wants this so bad, so FOCUS on getting things in order and ready and never think you've double checked too mantle times.

Gaynto, go to Immigration Info on the top of VJ, select your country and you should have an idea of what is required after the NOA2 process.

ADVICE to everyone, never fill out/check your forms when you're tired, hungry, frustrated etc; makesure you're relaxed! Learned that in psychology!

howdy all, no news for me today, but here to give a quick update on the 8 petitions that were still left in initial review for VSC 9/24. Finally some movement on 1 - though a negative one. The one petition whose status changed actually got denied. It's the first one i've seen denied and it seems weird that it wouldn't have gone to RFE first. Anyone know why a petition would get denied instead of first requesting more evidence? Just curious...

I found one of the numbers on my mini watch list as denied too...(I became a normal person for a while then started back up on the checking consecutive numbers again.. whatcha gonna do when you get obsessed?? ) I wondered if maybe they hadn't met in the prior 2 years or if the petitioner had an unacceptable background check. I couldn't think of another thing that would send it straight to denial.. But what do I know? I am pretty green around here..

I would think the two year rule is probably the biggest reason for a denial and not just an RFE. Interesting.. wish there was a way to find out why it was denied.

Can't believe we haven't had any news in a few days.

Was just looking in the main forum and there is a thread there from someone who just got a denial letter.. denied because of a lack of signature. It must not have been the I-129F or they would have just sent the whole package back and not accepted it. Something wasn't signed.. so they denied it. I would think they would just give an RFE for that.. so maybe there is something more to it than the person thinks.
