September 2009 K-1 Visa Filers

I am confused about NOA1. Does it mean the date when they sent to you the hard copy or the date when they received, cause we got a notice they received on October 2 and got hard copy on October 7?

I know it doesn't change anything but I would like to know that.

Look on your NOA1 under notice date; it’s probably October 2nd or 3rd. My petition was received on August 27th, my notice date was August 31st and I received hard copy in the mail on September 2nd.

Our notice date was October 2nd, so I have to put that date in timelines and not October 7th.

You can check your case status by entering your case number that is listed on your NOA1, and you can sign up for updates on your case. Many people here received there NOA2 via email by signing up for updates.

Good morning everyone,

After putting out some fires as soon as I got to work, I finally made it to JV. Everyone should check too about packet 3, I learned that my consulate in Rio does not send or require packet 3, but packet 4 which is downloadable from the their website. We dont have to mail anything ahead of time, just show up with the documents.

We are now in the system of the consulate, my fiancee for the first time seem to be happy about the whole process. I think it is because we can see the light at the end of the tunnel finally.

Jenn.. did you get an email for packet 3??

No! I haven't even gotten mail from NVC saying they got my case and have sent it on.. but, yesterday, the woman on the phone there told me they don't generally send letters.. hmm.. a few people on here have said they've gotten them so not sure about that

A few of the people, in the Turkish Forum, send me their information on what they had to send and I read all the info on the Ankara Embassy web page, so we have everything together and ready to go when he gets packet #3.

I was going to send it to him this morning, but noticed something in the instructions last night. The list, from Ankara, says the following:

1. FULL PHOTOCOPY OF PASSPORT: Full photocopy of passport must be provided. The

For some reason it keeps cutting off half of my post..

Here's the rest of the info I was trying to say about the passport...

1. FULL PHOTOCOPY OF PASSPORT: Full photocopy of passport must be provided. The

beneficiary must have 8 months validity on the passport at the time of visa issuance... blah, blah, blah

Does this mean he has to have that much at the time he sends the copy? He only has 7 months now, and we know we need to extend it before the interview, but didn't know if we needed to do it right now.

It's expensive to do in Turkey.. even for just one year..

If he has to extend now, then I have to change the passport validity dates on his DS 156.. so can't send him the papers until I have an answer.

I emailed the embassy, but they said it would be up to 5 business days before we would get a response.

So, now we wait... again..

Yes.. your NOA1 date would be October 2nd.. not 7th.
