Ok - help! I'm freaking out. I got a letter today from the "Bureau of Consular Affairs" (not on letterhead) and the return address on the envelope says United States Dept of State National Visa Center - 31 Rochester Ave Portsmouth, NH...says that they received an approved I129F petition....but still no NOA2! When I log in on the state dept website it says it was last touched Sept 17, but nothing about being approved or them sending me an NOA2...letter is dated Oct 24.

Has this happened to anyone else?? Does this mean my NOA2 is on the way? Scared to believe it...!

I wouldn't worry about it...it says you were approved...mine is on the way to consulate now and I still don't have NOA2.... I don't even know what NOA2 looks like. Thats a great letter to have received!!!

Looks like another person who can claim that their status wasn't updated. My file got to NVC on 10/23.. I have gotten the official letter from them yet, but I am betting mine will be dated 10/24 and may be sitting in my mailbox when I go home.

Mine is already on it's way to the consulate, so yours could be too! I would call NVC.. the number is on page 35 or 36 of this forum.. give them your EAC # and they can let you know what day the received it and if it has been sent to the consulate yet.

Wouldn't that be funny if you got Packet # 3 from the Consulate, before you even get your NOA2 :):)

NOA2 looks just like the NOA1 and has the same "nothing" informaiton on it. Merely a receipt showing you were approved.. but this time you will also have your fiance's Alien Registration number. It will appear above their name and probably starts out with A0 and then 8 other numbers. You will need that for al lthe forms from here on out!!

Now Kayla.. earlier today you taught me how to quote more than one post in the same message.. great.. but now I can't get it to stop :)

Every post I do is turning into a multiple quote post. HELP.

So, what is everyone doing for Halloween?

I'll be working and giving out candy to the little yard apes there.

I'm heading down to South Carolina to be with the fiance, and I think we're going to a halloween party but I don't have a costume or know what to be..

I was supposed to be getting married.... :(

Aww sweetie I know you were. But if it makes you feel any better next year I'll make the trip all the way there and throw pumpkins on your front porch. That'll be fun, wont it? ;)

Unfortunately all it will say is forwarded to consulate! All that is left, is for him to send an I-134 with proof of income or sponsor. everything else is up to beneficiary. All forms and instructions should be on consulate website. We just followed guides and (YELLED FOR VJ :help: ) when we got stuck!!

Thanks for sharing with us details about your relationships and how you deal with stress and every day problems. All this time I thought its just us, that we are so different from the rest of the couples in here etc etc. So now that i know that everyone is going through pretty much the same problems, i will be even more greatful for what i have and for our relationship. I feel like I might have been too harsh at times...

I also got a question. We got NOA2 by email on the 23rd. Anyone knows how long before we get the hard copy? Besides NOA2 hard copy, will my fiance get some kinda instructions package from NVC?

I know this has happened to another member here, I can't remember who it is though. I'm wanting to say Gary and Alla. I could be wrong. But these things DO happen!

Oh good to know! I've been going back & reading through this thread. After we submitted it I have to be honest - kind of been avoiding VJ just because it makes me freak out about it all even more :) Not that I don't like to hear everyone's good news! But I have been trying not to obsessively check USCIS & all that and being here makes me want to! I was totally shocked when I saw that letter in my mailbox tonight!

Still kind of shaking, haha. And unfortunately it's the middle of the night in Kenya & Sifa sleeps like a rock so he's not waking up to my calls to tell him!

Hmm... let's see if I can write a post without it becoming part of the "multiple quote" post I have above...

The DHL site is driving me crazy. I cannot find that 4 pound package that was shipped to Ankara yesterday. Can't find the 5 pound one either.. they have both disappeared. The only one I can find is 2 pounds and that's not mine. Even when I use the tracking numbers those packages had they do not show up.

Very frustrating.. I suppose I will just keep an eye on that 2 pounds package and when it gets there I will assume mine is there too. It should arrive tomorrow morning.. BUT.. tomorrow is Republic Day in Turkey.. biggest National Holiday they have, so the Embassy will not be open.

Those lucky government people over there :).. they get all the American holiday's off AND the Turkish holiday's too.

So, I guess there is no point in thinking about that little packet until Friday!

NVC told us that our application was sent Oct. 27,. Tried that DHL tracking also. does it mean, 1 transaction , 1 application? or maybe a bunch of them.. coz theres only one shipment to the PHilippines on that said date and its 28 lbs.. geeez, thats too much for one application only..

I was wondering the same so I asked a friend who works in the Brazilian consulate, he said that they receive sometimes multiple applications in one shipping. I asked because my was also very heavy for my application.
