Just a thought.. when you are calling NVC you are talking to a real person and not using the automated system right?

K1's are not put in the automated system, so you will always get the response that it has not been received yet.

I'm sure you already know that, but thought it was worth throwing out there.

Actually I did not now that... lol I am calling an agent then

OOH glad I mentioned it then! I bet you will find that your packet has been there and gone.

I took another look at the receipt for the packet I sent to USCIS and it shows the weight as 3 pounds 7.3 ounces.. I don't know where I got the idea the it was 3 pounds 1 ounce.. but I BET that 4 pound package going to Ankara was mine.. and I STILL cannot find it, again, on the DHL web site. It's vanished into DHL Cyberspace!!

I am sure packet size has nothing do with it. I had 95 pages of just my cell phone bills ( 18 months worth). With everything else added in, I think my packet was close to 200 pages.. plus pictures.

There was the link with Gary and Allah's conversation with the USICS Director and he asked about packet size slowing things up. The Director stated the size of the packet had nothing to do with it and would not slow things down. They will only look at the items they need for the purpose of the NOA2 and don't look at the other stuff.

But as several senior members have mentioned.. sending all the other stuff ensures it gets "behind the glass" at the consulate. They can refuse to look at your documentation at the interview, but must take into consideration anythign that was sent by USCIS. So I included tons of relationship proof, even though it wasn't needed for this stage. Wasn't taking a chance that they wouldn't look at it during the interview.

Karen, I am sure they are saving the best for last!

Hey.. does anyone know how to repond to multiple posts in ONE post? I keep trying to use the little "quote" button, to respond to several things in one post.. but it doesn't seem to work. I did it once.. but have no idea how I did it

I figured out that if you post a reply, and then click the reply button on another persons post it will put them both into one big post like you quoted multiple times. Other than that, I've got no clue.

Since by the time I get to Virginia it will be a respectable hour for lunch, I'm gonna go get my egg roll!

I can already tell a difference in my relationship since I got this NOA2, even though it's only been a few hours. For a while there we were so frustrated at each other and fighting all the time I ended up taking off my ring. These past few days have been a lot better, and now this morning we're back to that happy excited kind of love that we used to have. I hate what this process does to us all. I can't imagine what it must be like for those who are still waiting, and have been for months. Mathew and I have been through A LOT over these last 6 years but I really thought we were going to strangle each other for a while there! Glad that's over with!

ahh, i feel better now. i thought maybe i was the only one with such a ginormous package. i did the same thing - every shred of evidence i had, including a year and a half of cell phone bills, and tons of photos. my package was probably the same size as yours. about 4 lbs. and yes, i did it because i'm going through a difficult consulate. i was sort of embarrassed at how much i loaded in - so i am glad that i am not alone. :-)

thanks everyone for the support! kjenkins86 - here's to hoping for good news for us both!
