NVC RECEIVED MY CASE!! I have a case number. I called on the 23rd and yesterday and both told me they didn't have it. This lady said they had it for awhile

Either way, YAY! It hasn't gone out yet but she said call in a week to see when it leaves.

So two times you were told they didn't have it.. and then today she says they've had it for a while? Did she tell you what date they received it?

I was told mine was received on October 23rd and has not gone out yet.. but on 10/23 there was a package sent to the consulate that weighs 3 pounds 1 ounce.. the exact same weight as my packet.. I suppose it is possible there is another packet going to Turkey that weighed exactly the same, but I have heard of people getting packet # 3 and NVC still saying it hasn't been sent out yet... so maybe that package was mine. Who knows...

I think waiting for the packet to go from NVC to the Embassy is more stressful than waiting for NOA2....

She didn't tell me the date, but just that they had it for awhile. My file with USCIS was touched on the 23rd so they still had it on the 23rd. I think they probably just received it yesterday or today honestly... What am I suppose to do with a case #?

The woman I spoke to today too was so nice..I wish I could have her for all my phone calls.. lol

The first woman I talked to was very unpleasant.. this was when I made the mistake and gave Fuat's birth date wrong... and she put me into a panic. The second woman was very nice, but she did tell me we were in AP, so it's a really small chance that they are mistaken and that was my package. I know my package left USCIS on the 20th.. so chances are they really didn't get it until the 10/23 date they said.. and it was probably not mailed out the same day.

You will need your case number for the consulate. Some of the forms, form the consulate in Turkey, ask for this number.. and I read, somewhere on here, that you should write your case number on the top of all forms even if it's not asked for.. but I can't find that thread now.. so not sure if I really read that or just dreamed the idea up in my own head.

That sounds like a good organizational thing too do anyway - just in case. I'll do it. Thank you! I love making sure all my ducks are in a row. I read these forums and others for about a month before we filed - ensuring I had everything we needed and in order. (Seems like its paying off too)

The first part of their case has received a decision, and now they're waiting for the hard copy to find out what the decision was. Maybe my good feelings were for her, and not for me. Boo!

I've been checking my case status about every 10 minutes today because I just had an awesome feeling and then there was a thread on another forum I'm on from this girl who is moving to Canada to be with her love. The first part of their case has received a decision, and now they're waiting for the hard copy to find out what the decision was. Maybe my good feelings were for her, and not for me. Boo!

You'll get it! I'm crossing my fingers for you today!

I think ours was going through background check so quickly because he already had it because hes a marine and I work for the government here in Canada... and when they check the financial side, he gets paid more when hes married... but Im only assuming.

The background check on us should have come back very quickly as well. I've had one for my job and there isn't so much as a small ding in it. Mathew had to have one because he works for CAE in Canada and that's a government type thing. He's pending some kind of NATO security thing, which he had to have a background check done on him for, so I dunno, maybe they just didn't like 9/24. We'll see.

You guys are all so funny today, from Kayla wanting Mathew's credit card to the squirrel peeing on the laptop. For once since my NOA1 I'm a little loose and not so tense. Or maybe I'm just tired of checking :-(

I signed up for email and text alerts but still I can't stop checking the status online. Darn my phone for having internet!

Anyhow, goodluck to all, getting back to work.

I work at a preschool and the kids keep asking me why am I always on the phone, so I tell them I'm checking for my NOA2. It's hilarious how 3 and 4 year olds try to pronounce NOA2!

I have USCIS website and VJ bookmarked on my blackberry. And what's funny is that I didn't do it myself. It bookmarked the websites all on it's own just because I visited so often, lol. This is why I love my blackberry and will never ever give it up!

I was like this too, setup for mobile alert and email and I just kept checking..and checking.. then one day I noticed a touch, last update changed and I felt it was NOA2..but received nothing...until late at night..I got an email.
