...waiting patiently for the afternoon so I can call the National Visa Center and see if they received our application yet ...

Kayla, how do you call the 1-800 # and get a a status update? I mean, when I call, of course I can't input the letters EAC, so I enter the numbers and it comes back saying that I didn't enter enough numbers. What's up with that???

hey all, just saying good morning! hope our group gets some good news today! :-D

Today's my day off.. 2010 budgets are due in two days and I should be sitting here working on getting them finished.. but noooooo.. I am sitting here watching VJ. I am so sure someone is going to get good news today that I know I won't be able to stay away :)

I think I will have to sit here, with both my personal and work laptops on so that I can do two things at one time.. hmm.. if I screw up the budget I wonder if I can blame it on VJ

I just noticed ,on Nydvo's list, that there are two other couples here from Virgina.. and I wanted to make you an offer! When all this is said and done, and your SO is here with you, bring them to Kings Dominion for the day! I would be very happy to give you a day in the park!!

But if you tell me you would rather go to Six Flags or Bush Gardens.. well, then BOOOOOO...

Seriously, after things calm down at home and you are ready to get away for a day get in touch with me! What could be more fun than sitting next to your sweetheart on our new 305 foot roller coaster . :P

For those of you not in Virginia... if you ever feel like making a road trip that offer goes for you too. We're in a great vacation area.. only 1 1/2 hours away from Washington DC, Virginia Beach and the mountains!

OK.. so back to my budgets.. but I will be watching!!!! Let's hope for some good news.

Has anyone here set a potential wedding date yet or are we all holding off until after the interview? I've been anxious to start planning but I don't want to get ahead of myself. I roughly figured I'd set a date once I receive my interview date and make it for a month or two after that date... or is that not going to work either? bleh

Also, I would have entered on my K1 visa, but I have a passport and we plan on marrying pretty much the week I am allowed to enter on the K1... after I marry am I allowed to leave to bring my stuff down?

Our problem is that hes in the USMC and he lives on military base - and until we're married they won't provide base housing and won't allow him to live off base.

So I need to come down, get married THEN get a place to live, then go back to Canada and get my stuff (mainly my cats and their documents)... but I heard that I'm not allowed to leave for 3 months once I enter? or is that only BEFORE I get married?

Help...lol

However, here's to many NOA2's today and this week!

Whenever you call to check your status you actually DO put in EAC, but you would put in 322(EAC on your phone), followed by your case number. Like mine would be 3220925251490. I'm not real sure why my case number is 0925 because I was under the impression that it would be your NOA1 date, but the letter itself says September 24th. Not really worried about it though.

June 26th, 2010. Cumberland Falls State Resort Park in Corbin, Kentucky. Bill Caine Photography. Above and Beyond Cabin 702 in North Carolina.

Yeah, we jumped the gun. All of those things already have deposits on them. Bill Caine took our engagement pictures in August and I sent those in with my K-1, and wrote on the back his photography blog where they could be found online as well. Hopefully this helps. :)

Also, Mathew's parents are coming down for the wedding, as well as many of his other relatives so he's going to bring his stuff with him whenever he comes down. He wont be back to Kentucky until our wedding so I guess that means I get to pick out our apartment and decorate it!!! Yay! I can't tell you how many times I've told him to just give me his credit card number and close his eyes, lol. I AM a girl, afterall!

From what I understand, you cannot apply for Advanced Parole ( The term for the document that will allow you to leave the country) until you apply for AOS. I've heard that your Advanced Parole can arrive before you AOS interview, but that it will take about three months.. so if you get married right away, file AOS right away, and you should have Advanced Parole within a few months.

You cannot leave the country until you get Advanced Parole approved.

If anyone knows if you can apply for the Advanced Parole, before you get married, please... Chime in! I would like to be able to get this taken care of ASAP, but we do not plan on marrying the minute he comes into the country. We do not want to have to wait 6 months to be able to go back to Turkey, so I am hoping this can be done before AOS.. but have been led to believe you can't file until you are actually married... unless it is an emergency situation.

What's sad is that Mathew is going to take his good ole' easy time coming into the US after he gets the visa. He doesn't graduate from school until April, and then he's got a really great co-op right now that offered him part time work next semester if he wants it, so of course, he's gonna take it. He'll probably work until June and then come down here. But hey, he's making awesome money and I'm thinking that the longer he works for that company, the more apt they might be to give him a really good recommendation to a company they know down here. It's a huge company, as usually all of those kinds of businesses know each other, lol.

NVC RECEIVED MY CASE!! I have a case number. I called on the 23rd and yesterday and both told me they didn't have it. This lady said they had it for awhile

Either way, YAY! It hasn't gone out yet but she said call in a week to see when it leaves.
