I think they main reason they want you to file before 90 is up because after 90 days you're out of status. If wait and file a year or so after that and apply for AP it's pretty much moot because you've been out of status for so long that you would get an automatic ban when you try and re-enter the country. I think it's something like 180 days of out of status time is a 3 year ban and a year of out of status time is a 10 year ban. So basically, the less time you're out of status, the better.

Also the longer you wait the more likely your medical will be out of date - it's only good for one year :)

Yeah, you definitely can't forget that! That'd be another $300 you'd have to throw away.

My photographer was so amazing. He and his assistant really made my day. I was so stressed because of the minister thing. In the ceremony pictures I was trying so hard not to cry that it looks like I was unhappy, but trust me, I wasn't!

I sent the AOS papers off today! yay!

HURRAY!! Now.. sit back and wait... again.... :):)

We thought we needed a CS too. Hopefully everything works in our favor and they'll have his original medical in his POE packet.

I'm a littl confused on the whole civil surgeon issue, but we went to one anyway. Too many people getting RFE's for not doing it.. and a lot of people NOT getting RFE's, so we didn't take the chance.

In the "official" government instructions it said you didn't need a civil surgeon to do the physical if yours was less than one year old.. but the VJ informaiton said you still needed to have a civil surgeon compelte part 2 and part 5 of the form. It cost us $80 to have him sign off that FUat has all his necessary vaccinations... and all he did was look at the vaccination card we had.

Don't know if we needed to do that.. but did it anyway.

A lot of people do it for the peace of mind that they wont get an RFE. Fuats original medical should have been in his POE packet that he handed over. Sending in that DS-3025(Or whatever the number is, lol) shows the person looking at your case that the medical will be in the POE packet and that you didn't need a CS. When people get RFE's it's either because the person didn't look, the medical was over a year old, or it got lost between POE and Chicago.

I sent in that little piece of paper and included a special note on the cover letter telling them that his medical would be in his POE packet. If it's there, yay! If it's not, we'll have to go to a CS and get it fixed. So either it'll save us some money or set us back a couple of days. I'm just glad it's not like Montreal, where if you send a document in it takes them a month to look at it!

I've never heard about the ban, I do know that you must start all over if you leave the country out of status... Kayla, did you send your aos package by super mail? It got there fast. Hubby and I are sending out ours Monday, we had 2 passport pics instead of 6 and basically our $9 for tje 2 is down the drain because walgreens doesn't keep copies and I didn't want to send in different sets so we have to do them over.

Yes Maggie, all 3 forms are included in the $1,010. Don't get me started on why ut costs so much and all they do us approve, print cards or be a pain and send our rfe's. Speaking of which, some ppl do get rfe's after doing the partial medical, I think these immigration workers have very basic knowledge and we would probably do a better job than

them.

LOL yeah Krystal, we overnighted our AOS forms. We wanted those out of our hands as quickly as possible! I was so excited to see that it was signed by L BOX(because the Lock Box is so special it can sign it's OWN name ;)). Now it's back to waiting and hoping we don't get the RFE for the medical. Hopefully my little note on the cover page was enough to make them look for it.

I figured for sure that we would all be so spread out in our AOS that we wouldn't be able to go through it together, but looks like us 3 will be, and we'll have Jenn there to guide us along the way.

When was the last time anyone heard from Ney? I miss Mama Ney.

hey all! if you guys are going to fly, glenoi can just use his passport as id. We've flown to both florida and austin and that's what my honey used.

congrats to jenn on getting AP! you guys headed back to Turkey at all? Congrats to Kayle for sending in the AOS! And Maggie & Krystle - can't wait until you guys are on your way too.

I'm about a month behind Jenn, so we're hoping for EAD/AP in mid-august. Our case is currently processing at CSC. I took the opportunity of my hubby not being able to travel outside the US to also sent in my passport to get extra pages added. So, neither of us can leave the US now!

Hope everyone is great, i miss you and think often about you all!
