I found us on Page # 3. PAGE 3 really....

sad...

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy fourth of July. Kayla, still thinking of you and hope all is well.

Who is next? Was Kayla the last to get married? I don't think so, but I can't remember now. Everyone has actually had their interview I believe.. and I think everyone has entered the country???? I blame "chemo brain" on not being able to remember all that... of course, I also blame that on why I tried to feed Fuat cat food yesterday, when I was actually trying to feed my cat, and why I put the milk in the cupboard :)

Happy fourth!!!!

Yes Jenn, unfortunately we dont visit the forum as much but I undestand that we're all bysy, happy husbands/wives ;-)

Kayla, don't worry about the name because they don't ask much of the have anyhow. Regarding the signing, you're fine, I didn't sign. Only the witnesses are suppose to sign.

This varies by state, too. In Texas only the minister or person performing the wedding has to sign. No witnesses required.

I did call and find out that it IS a state thing. So everything is fine. I still can't stand the minister that performed my wedding, though. grr.

We just need a few more days to get everything together(meaning get my mom to actually remember to sign her I-864A) and then we'll be sending it off!

We got married in Virginia and we didn't sign the marriage certificate either. Actually my name was mispelled on the certificate, so I'm not even sure we're really married :)) Anyway, we gotta order copies by mail so I guess we will have the right name on them...

Jenn, good to see you active in here. Hope the whole chemo process will be easier and easier for you. I'm thinking about you....

I have been here for 5 months now, staying home and I'm starting to lose my minds. I was wondering if I can get any kind of job if I dont have a GC or a SS yet.... Probably not.... I dont really know what to do... Im an active person and Im not used to staying home for so long.... I'm pretty dissapointed with the whole situation in here and really sad that my husband cannot find a job.

Unfortunately no, there's no legal way to work when you don't have a green card (or EAD - employment authorization document, which sometimes comes before the green card. You apply for both at the same time.)

I'm sorry to hear your husband is having such a hard time finding a job :( Catch 22, since I'm sure without a job for him y'all can't afford to go through the AOS process, but if you could then you would be able to look for work too! I hope he finds something soon.

While you can't get a job, you can volunteer, which would get you out of the house and do good at the same time.

Yea, I'm trying to find a place to volunteer, it just has to be close cause I can't drive....

I wish I could find a way to make money cause we really need it. I was hoping I could do some babysitting cause I need no EAD for that, but so far.... nothing. Any idea what else I could look for besides babysitting?

Im sorry to hear that you can't find a job...neither you or your husband...and you certainly, of course, can't live without food. Being a volunteer is a nice idea if you are not sure what to do with yourself and you have enough time to help others.

I wish I could help you but unfortunately I can't.

I wish you both all the best in your efforts to find a job. (F)

hi guys, just popping in to say hey. Jenn - glad you are doing okay and congrats on the AP & EAD! We are about a month behind you...i'm hoping we'll follow with your sort of timeline! My honey is itching to be able to work and I think a trip home would also be really good for him.

4lovewelive - i'm so sorry to hear about the money/work troubles! I will keep my fingers crossed that something comes through for your hubby soon. What kind of job is he trying to get?
