This last week was really rough, but feeling better now. I may actually be able to go back to work by the weekend!!!

Whoever thought someone could be so happy to be able to go to work. You would think I was the one with the visa waiting for the EAD :)

KAYLA.... Just a few more days. Oh I can't wait to see pictures.

Yayyyy!! You're feeling better! :dance::dance:

Oh so you get to go back to work just in time before Fuat's permit expires. Hopefully he'll get the ead by then! :star:

I know.... but we have had no action since we were transferred to CSC at the end of May. Here's to hoping..... at least this wait isn't as frustrating as the wait for NOA2 or an interview date :)

AOS is going faster than expected since of lately, you got your appt letter pretty fast. Now lets hope that your case gets transferred to Cali and you don't end up getting an interview!

Hi all, hate that we barely visit the room (and that includes myself) but hopefully we're all doing fine, our SO's are adjusting well and we're enjoying marriage life.

I saw Kayla's pic on facebook, she was beautiful

I found us on Page # 3. PAGE 3 really....

sad...

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy fourth of July. Kayla, still thinking of you and hope all is well.

Who is next? Was Kayla the last to get married? I don't think so, but I can't remember now. Everyone has actually had their interview I believe.. and I think everyone has entered the country???? I blame "chemo brain" on not being able to remember all that... of course, I also blame that on why I tried to feed Fuat cat food yesterday, when I was actually trying to feed my cat, and why I put the milk in the cupboard :)

Happy fourth!!!!

Well, I think I might be the last one, if you're just counting September filers as a whole. My wedding isn't until October. He's not even POE'd yet; we're still both in Canada. (AND I'M VERY, VERY HOMESICK :()

I've been so busy with school ####### that I haven't been around much. I hope you all are doing okay.

Actually, I was including you in this.. but for some reason thought you had already both come through and had gotten married. I don't know why... but I have been absent a lot.

Sorry to hear you are homesick and hope you will be coming home soon.

So now we look forward to October and your good news :)

Mmkay. :) I wasn't sure, hehe. Yeah, we've got the Uhaul truck reserved for August 12th, so it's just a bit over a month left to go. As much as I love Canada, I'll be glad to be going back home.

Okay I'm back from the honeymoon and all of the excitement!!! My photographer put up some of the pictures he took at the wedding and put them on his blog. It's billcaine.bigfolioblog.com if anyone wants to take a looksee.

And now for the AOS panic and a question that I'm really really wondering about.

The minister at my wedding never asked Mathew and I to sign anything at the wedding. He took the marriage certificate, gave us a tiny sheet of paper to have until the marriage certificate comes in saying that our wedding was performed on June 26th, blah blah, but that's it. Now on the I-485 it asks for the name of the spouse, which would be me. Then it gets complicated and confusing, at least for me. I've been through 11 pages in the AOS forum and any time a person mentions the marriage certificate and the name change it is referenced as something that is supposed to be signed at the wedding. I didn't look at my marriage certificate so I don't know if there's a portion about changing my name. As it is I'm terrified that if Kentucky law requires that Mathew and I both sign the marriage certificate in the presence of the minister that a.) we're not really married and b.) I'm going to get into the biggest cat fight with the minister that the world has ever seen. If I see him in public as it is he's in big trouble with me and now it looks like he may have botched my wedding.

I guess what I'm eventually trying to get at(you all know how I ramble) is did anyone else NOT sign their marriage certificate at the wedding? And did anyone else(USC women, obviously LOL) use their maiden name on the I-485 because they hadn't changed their name yet?

I'm going to call the county clerks office tomorrow to see about the requirement for us to sign it and the name change, but I'll bet I wont be sleeping tonight.

I think signing the marriage certificate varies by state. In Texas we didn't have to sign it (in fact there is no where on it for the people getting married TO sign!) I just took the marriage certificate when it came in to get my name changed with the DMV and Social Security office to get my name officially changed.

As for the I-485, I put my married name...they don't require any documentation (other than financial) for the USC spouse so I didn't think it would be a problem to put my married name even though I hadn't officially changed it yet since I knew I would be in the near future. I think I did fill out the affidavit of support with my maiden name though since I hadn't yet changed my name at my job.

Congrats, btw!!
