Hi Everyone,

Can't stop thinking about Maggie today! Tomorrow is your big day and I am so excited for you.

Fuat and I have been shopping for rings ( with my Mom) and really wishing we had done it before this. Even though we are already married, we weren't going to put on rings until we had our family cermony... you all know the info on that. My mom has given me her wedding band and engagement ring ( both very small bands) and I will wear those with the bands Fuat and I choose.. but we want to have them before my surgery on Friday and it seems like that will be almost impossible. I have a size 4.5 finger and the smalles ring made is a 5 but we keep being told it takes two weeks for resizing. WHATEVER. We've been everywhere and I am sure we will find someplace that can resize same day.. but with everything else we need to do this week, the rings may have to wait. We don't want to wait... we want them on ASAP.. but may not be able to do that. You would think that it would be so simple.. all we want is plain bands ( White gold)... why the heck does it take two weeks to take it down half a size? Fuat, being a jewler, keeps telling them all they are crazy and he could do it in one day..

So, maybe we will have rings soon and if we do our plan is to go ahead with the Turkish tradition of having the rings on a ribbon.. my mother would place the rings on our fingers and then cut the ribbon.. but we want to do it soon. I have been married almost a month and no ring. I WANT MY RING :) ( and he wants his more than I want mine).

As for me... I will give a brief update here.. but I don't want to take over this page with my medical things, so if anyone wants an update after this please go to the www.kast2006.com page.

I saw the oncologist on Thursday and he was very optomisitc. Of course, he can't tell anything until he actually gets in there and can see the tumor.. if it is definitely malignant then everything comes out.. if not.. then he will see what he can do and see if it will be possible to leave enough for me to have children. If it is malignant, he may also need to take out several other organs that I can survive without. I am looking at a minimum of 6 weeks recovery time... 8-12 if he has to take more.. and then some fun chemo cocktails.

Hey, I haven't had a summer vacation since I started working in the amusemen tpark industry 20 years ago.. so.... I should try to look at it as a summer vacation :)

Surgery is scheduled for Friday afternoon ( April 30th.. one month anniversary of our wedding).

I hope everyone is well. I still haven't had time to read through the posts I've missed, but I will have more than enough free time pretty soon.

Thinking of you all

Jenn

Hi Jenn,

I am sorry if it was meant to be private, but I did read your blog yest and I have been a little shocked.

Shocked because of the news ,and also because I first felt it was very very unfortunate that God would do this to a lovely woman,at a time when you have just gotten married, you are looking forward to your life together.

But when I read those blogs,I felt like I saw the optimism of a young woman, not deterred by this seemingly huge obstacle, the resolve of a person to fight it with all it takes and not feel defeated .And I felt teary-eyed,out of happiness ,like it is yet another small victory. And that when you have family and love all around you,one can take on possibly everything.

I do not know you,but I pray to God that he takes care of you, your lives.I really do respect your courage and grit.

May everything be well Jenn (F)

Hi Jenn! I am really sorry about all this. It is not fair. I am praying for you and I'm sure God will take care of you. You are a very optimistic woman, and this is a great gift.

I don't know how much you were willing to pay for wedding bands. I think I saw something on Zales - plain white gold bands, 3 mm for 99 dollars. It says they got your size...

Good luck with everything!

Jenn,

You sound strong and positive, sounding great. The whole ring situation sounds crazy, but I'm sure you will find a solution. Maybe a temporary little ring that 'stops' the bigger ring from sliding down your finger? Just as a last resort? That's the best idea I have about that situation.

The whole Volcano situation has frayed nerves and tried patience, but it looks like we will fly this week, finally!

Did you have any luck with the infopass, or was that something worth looking into regarding the speeding up of the process.

How bout the good old "get a live person from USCIS by pressing the button for change of adress and then springing the expedite topic" ...I read somewhere that that worked for someone...but who knows?

We have a candle buring for you to bring about health and healing and happiness!

hey guys,

man it's been quiet here on the board lately. i miss everyone so much!

Krystle - good luck with all your wedding prep! And so sorry to hear about your VJ friend. My day was better yesterday. I think it's just going to be up and down for a little while, but i'm praying everything will be okay...our wedding is in two weeks! How are things with you and G?

Maggie - I'm sure you're running around doing wedding stuff but i just wanted to say good luck and i'll be thinking about you sunday!

We went and bought a dress on monday for the wedding. It's a little big but hopefully i can shrink it or get it tailored:

http://www.nyandcompany.com/nyco/browse/productDetailWithPicker.jsp?productId=prod2060030&categoryId=cat2100002

Tomorrow, ring shopping! :)

Beautiful dress!!!

Hope you found a ring that you like :star:

I am super tired, what I wanted to be just a small intimate family only and 1 friend wedding, is now turning out to be 20+ guests including family and my friend's girlfriends and boyfriends. Call me a mean bridezilla but if I invite YOU, I expect to see YOU and not you, your sister and your boyfriend, seriously. I have people calling me saying "I won't make it to the ceremony because I have nothing to wear (huge lie)but I'll come to the reception" Aaah, no. Don't come at all, I invited you to come and celebrate my joy with me, NOT to eat all you can

Hi Everyone .....

Thinking of you all

Jenn

Wow Jenn, your finger is super small :star:

And yes, it can be resized in 1 day, they probably don't have the resources to do it. If time wasn't so tight you could've bought it, mail it to me and I take it to my jeweler and mail it back the same or next day  I hope you find something soon.

You always seem to have veery important appointments on your anniversary, first the interview on you together anniversary and now the surgery on your wedding anniversary. I wish you all the blessings with the surgery Jenn and I hope it's not malignant so you can jump on the ball and start making babies. :star:

We love you Jenn and you will make it thrugh this (L)

By the way, have you taughtt of something you can do while you're home so you won't be bored and down? Such as a book or something? Just a thought...

God did Bless Jenn to come this far in life, find her dream man, bring him here to the states and get married. Jenn was also blessed to have formed a really good bond on this board with some of us. So please sweetheart, think about what God has blessed us all with throughout life before we judge him for this ONE bad happening. :star:

Hi,

I am sorry, not for writing what I did,but if you took it some other way.I was not judging God,I have my own beliefs. They do not subscribe to judging God either.Just that a normal person, with a normal person reflex would first feel slightly slumped on hearing a not so positive news. But I do feel we always should count our blessings, because there are many others who are always going through worse, and that we should be thankful.

But He being God,he knows that sometimes his children can afford being angry with him. That does not mean the love is soiled,it is a loving bond and that is acceptable.(as per me).

But the thing is ,we all want Jenn to be happy, fine and feel supported :)

Hi everyone,

First to Johnanwesha ( hope I spelled that right :) )... The blog is not private. Anyone is welcome to ready it :)

Thank you to everyone who has sent me and email or posted comments.. I hope you understand how difficult it is for me to respond to each of you personally, there just isn't time.

Yes.. everythign happens for a reason and in God's time. Fuat and I tried, for two years, to get him a visa. It didn't happen. We truly believe it didn't happen because he needed to be here NOW at this time.. not on a vacation two years ago, not on a fiance visa a year ago.. now. Who knows if he would be here now if we'd gotten the visitor visas all the times we applied? Maybe he would have gotten scared off by the culture and not be here now( SOme of you know the adjustment difficulties he has had)... now was the time we were intend to be together, for whatever reason, and we are just grateful that we are in the same country. This would be so much worse if we were still on oppposite sides of the ocean and he could not get to me. I am soooo thankful that things worked out the way they did with our visas.

As for the rings... we got them last night and found someone who could size them today. Wish I had known about the Zales price. That would have been great.. but we have them and we think they are beautiful. My mother will put them on our fingers tonight. I will try to post a picture if I can.. but haven't figured out how to do that yet.

Maggie ... today is YOUR day and I am glad that I will get to share it with you in a small way.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.. Kayla.. when does Matthew get here???

Mathew gets here in 19 days. I just can't wait. May 14th will be a very happy/stressful/exciting day for me. I think I may take the next day off so that I can help him unpack and everything. He probably wont be here until 9 or 10 Friday night since he'll be driving the 15 hours so I know he'll be WAY too tired to unpack anything except the cat.

Jenn I will be praying for you on April 30th. Our little family can't be broken up. I do think that everything happens for a reason, and that something brought us all together. We have all been each others rocks when the times got bad and I feel such a bond with each and every one of you. We will all make it through this hurdle together, too. :)

Today is Maggies wedding day! I'm so happy for her. She might have been the last of us to interview but she sure left me in the dust on getting married ;). I hope she has a beautiful wedding and that everything goes smoothly for her.

Great that you got your rings and I see you're having the 2nd ceremony tonight, that's wonderful :star:

Ok, all is fine, I just wanted tp point out that Jenn is blessed in other ways :star:

Wow Kayla I'm so happy for you, 19 days will come before you know it.

You have cats right? How many does he have?

I've got one and he's got one. Scary thing is that mine is a bit of a princess and can't stand other cats to be on her turf and his cat is declawed. I'm afraid there's gonna be a knock-down-drag-out in my living room. Kitty poo is my princess and Snow is gonna be her sister so they'll just have to learn to get along.

Here's more proof that the luck jar is refilling: Matt's now working full time again (instead of just the 4 days a week thing he originally got)! Though, we both feel kind of bad for feeling so wonderful about it. The reason he's working full time is because one of the other employees had not one, but two seizures last week. He's alright, thankfully, but they still took his driver's license away from him, and we think that they do that for a minimum of three months, which means Matt's now working for three months. Wowwwwwie.

I've been sitting and pondering on what to post since I read Jenn's blog. The typical things that everyone else has said came to mind, and I echo each of them, but I guess I just didn't want to sound like a broken record. I know I haven't been "part of the group" for as long as everyone else (or even really part of it now, per se), but I do hope that things go in your favor, Jenn. You deserve all the happiness in the world.

I hope you all are doing well in every venture of your lives. :)

Congrats Maggie! And to Frenzyheart - that is great that Matt has a full time job now! :)

Jenn, still sending prayers & good vibes your way (F)

We finally got our marriage certificate back on Saturday so we are moving right along with AOS. Sifa has his medical appointment with the civil surgeon to get 2 more shots & the immunization records transcribed on the I-693, and we have to get another certified copy of the marriage certificate to mail with it but at least it's been recorded in the county records office :) We have all the paperwork filled out already & most of the documents ready to go - I am anxious to get this done!!
