Yeah, can't live with them, can't live without them. Haha. We were racing around at 11 PM trying to figure out what to do because we both forgot the passport pictures for his medical. He ended up going in there and saying that he forgot them. The lady was nice and told him that he could just go get them after the appointment and bring them back, so it worked out.

Now if this whole issue with his employment would work out (ie: he would actually start working), then things will slowly de-stress around here. I hate seasonal employment sometimes. I mean, he technically works there year-round, but it's whether they actually get sales that decides whether they actually work or not. His boss told him that they didn't have enough to put 4 trucks on the road, so Matt's the one sitting out for now. We're pretty sure that it's because he's leaving in August (despite his boss saying otherwise...), but this kind of puts the screws to just about everything. He's looking for a second job, so hopefully that will turn up something. :(

Guess there wont be a wedding afterall....

Canada Post doesn't store anything in their system but tracking numbers. Without the tracking number we don't know where the package is. Without knowing where it's at we can't fight with the Consulate because THEY said they mailed it.

It's nice to know that paying almost $20 for something and having signature required means NOTHING to Canada Post.

there will be a wedding!!!

Ok.. i know this may sound stupid to ask and pointless.. but has he tried contacting his local post office and instead of asking to find a tracking number, ask if they have a package sitting there in his name? I had to do that before and they searched my name to see if it was there.

Also, if it is NOT picked up .. then it has to be returned to the Embassy. Especially since it is government documents. There must be a system for that.. what they do when they receive undeliverable items..etc.

Also, wouldn't Montreal write the tracking number down? I mean they have to ensure government official documents have been delivered, signed for, and received.. Their way of proving they didn't lose your passport and that they sent the information out? It should be protocol.

There must be some protocol if someone ends up not receiving it right?!? Like a reprint?!

He went to the post office he bought the envelope from and to his local office. They can't tell him anything and don't have anything. From what the supervisor told us, if they cannot deliver his mail to him then they have to keep it for 15 days. During that time they must send out TWO failed delivery notices before being sent back to the consulate.

The whole time I was talking to the supervisor she was like "And the embassy didn't write it down?????". I would think that they would, but either they didn't give that to the lady from the congressman's office or they just stuff the envelopes and send them on their way.

What really bothers me is that if it can't be found, his passport is lost. They'll have to conduct an investigation as to why, blah blah blah and it'll take forever to replace.

YAY MAGGIE!!! :) And I've still got all my fingers and toes crossed for you, Kayla!

As far as the employment issues go this way? Yeah, it went from bad to worse yesterday. He sent a message to his boss asking if there was any work, and his boss said "If there is, it'll be in a few weeks."!!! A few weeks puts us AT the interview. We needed to save up money to even get there, let alone everything else for it!!! After an afternoon where we both pretty much resigned to the fact that we were pretty much on the last step of the journey and had to give up, I suddenly remembered he had a bit in stocks left over from a few years ago. We fished up one of his more recent statements, and it'll be JUST enough to help us out. Crisis (somewhat) averted!

I can't take much more of this emotional roller coaster!!! I just want this to be done with!!!

(Though, due to the money issues, we may be POEing sooner than August, just so that I can go back and get going on that job. Just means we'll have to get married sooner... which isn't something I think I want to complain about lol)
