Awww, just reading back a few pages makes me wish I had posted in here more. I suppose there's no time like the present, since I'm still waiting for our interview date (I still refuse to call it his interview date, because no matter what, we're in this together, lol...) and I think the wait might just drive me bonkers.

Congrats to everyone that's had their interviews and all the good news all around. :)

Hi all! I know I never post here (I post more in the K1 procedures forum), but I do occasionally sift through & read everything and just wanted to say congrats to everyone - seems like everything is going great for everyone! Good luck to those who still have interviews. My fiance arrived Feb 24 and it is GREAT having him here :) Can't wait for everyone here waiting to be reunited with their fiance(e) to be in the same place! It's sooo awesome. Good luck everyone :)

Wish you all the best in your future life! :star:

Maggie, I know they give you one envelope that is to be handed in at POE and that one is to remain unopened. Is this the one you're talking about?

Gynto, I'm looking forward to the wedding pics!!!

Wow, I guess I hadn't even thought of the sacrafice on what you have to give up as far as material things are concerned. I'm such a sentimental person I have every card and letter that I have ever recieved. I have a slot in the top of two boxes, letters go in one, and cards go in the other. Every few years I go through the boxes and randomly read them. I have letters from when I was a little girl from family members that have long since passed away. I also have so many little keepsakes that have a great sentimental value for me. To many people some of my most beloved treasures are garbage, but to me they are priceless. I imagine it is extremely difficult to have to decide on what to let go of.

We are trying to see if we can get Najmeh here the beginning of April because my brother-in-law will be in Iran, and he can accompany her on her flight and assist her through POE (He is already scheduled to return on April 3rd). The way they have it set up at the Abu Dhabi embassy is ridiculas. The passport has to be dropped off on a Sunday at 10:00 AM, and the site states that "in most cases the visa will be ready by Thursday at 2:00 PM" And to top it off Persian New Year is the first day of spring and this causes the flight prices to Dubai to sky rocket to outrageous prices. And her mother has just went through surgery to remove a cyst from her breast, so she is trying to get approval to travel from the doctor. So she only has one day in the week she can drop off the passport and it may or may not be ready that same Thursday. Why does it take that long? All of this would have to take place before April 3rd for her to come here with my brother-in-law. We are all scrambling around to see how we can make it fall in place.

Ney I hope that Najmeh will receive her visa on time and be with your family soon. I wish your son and your future daughter all the best...life full with love... (L)

Hi Everyone

Apologies for not posting on a more regular basis, I have been monitoring everyone's progress. Congratulations to everyone who has already received their visa and to those still waiting hang on in there..

The good news is that I have my interview date (1st April) which is fabulous news! Just in the process of getting quotes from removal firms as well as quotes for shipping my two cats, just hope I am not jumping the gun too much but with such a lot to plan I decided to try and get all the pieces in place.

Im moving to the States with my cats (3) :luv: :luv: :luv:

Everything in the connection with our trip is subordinate to them because they never travelled anywhere and we put all our energy to get safe home.

For us it will be a long journey and I hope that we will not have the problems during the flight.

Really? What POE is he flying into?

Joanna is arriving at JFK on March 20th and spending a week in NYC with family then flying to Florida on 27-28 most likely. Looks like you and me will have the same date as the deadline to get married haha. I would love to spend a week in Florida but I only get one week paid vacation and March isn't a good time to take my vacation. Will be taking it on the 4th to the 11th of April.

Kjenkins I read more here then I post. I check VJ daily for the most part unless I'm dead tired after work. I really can't wait for Joanna to be here and to take my vacation from work.

I AM HOME! Got in at 1:00am and slept a little.. now trying to go through 600 work emails that I couldn't access while my computer would not work.

He is coming in to JFK on March 21! I will be going back to New York on March 20 to meet him there!!!!! We'll spend 21st and 22nd in New York and then drive back to Virginia on the 23rd. Thought about flying there and back.. but decided to drive it instead.

Okay so I broke down and bought another iPhone. I just couldn't help it. I love love love my blackberry but I had EVERYTHING on my iPhone, and it was actually very very handy. I just wish I had gotten MobileMe because then I could track it down.

Sooooo...we hired a wedding coordinator for the day of the wedding. I've planned most of this wedding to perfection but I'm just scared to death that something is going to go wrong with it on the big day, so I figure that this person can be my life saver. Wedding coordinators aren't for everyone, but since I'm about to have a mental breakdown thinking about everything I have left to do for the visa and for the wedding, I caved in.

Jenn, I'm so glad to see that you're home safe and sound!

Oh my goodness. 2 weeks exactly until Mathew's interview.

YOU are the best wedding coordinator as far as I am concerned!

Kjenkins.. that would be great to try to meet in NYC. How far are you from there? I am planning on getting there the night before Fuat arrives, so will be alone in the big city :)

Kayla.. your interview is exactly one month after ours.. AND will be the day Fuat actually walks through the door of our house :) I picked this place for us, over a year ago, and can't wait for him to finally walk through the door. March 23 is going to be a great day!!!!

I love planning my wedding and I know that with what I've designed for it will be spectacular, I just don't want to fuss over the decorations AND get myself and my girls ready for my big day. I want to relax and enjoy our moment instead of going bridezilla when something goes wrong. And at this point, as hard as I've worked over every little detail, I would end up looking like godzilla in a wedding dress, LOL. I need someone to execute what I want and to deal with my vendors. And of course, to clean up afterwards, ;).

On March 23rd Mathew and I will be celebrating our approval, and Jenn and Fuat will be celebrating finally walking in THEIR house together. Everyone should have a drink or two for us to celebrate :)

Nope! Not last! Having a later interview date is actually working out in our favor. The way I see it? As long as they don't schedule it before May 16th, it's all good!!! Last I heard, they were done with April scheduling, so it's definitely working out. We're hoping to have it between the end of May and the end of August, simply because I will be in Canada during that time, but if they don't schedule it until after August, then I will just do online courses for the fall semester so that I can be there with him. I can't see why it wouldn't be during the time we want it to be though. :)

Kayla - I switched from Blackberry to iPhone when I got back from Canada last year, and I will never go back! I can't live without mine! LOL. I can't wait for you to be approved! Definitely will be having drinks all around! :D

Then use March 23rd as a good excuse!!

Ugh. Apparently my vaccum cleaner is broken. I just tried to vacuum the hallway and noticed that I didn't see any dirt rolling around inside, then smoke started coming out. Now I feel like I'm going to die because it's just been shooting the dirt particles back in the air and as I breathe I can almost FEEL my lungs getting full of the stuff.

Nastyyy.
