We had an opportunity to speak to her in detail when she got back to Iran yesterday. The first day that she went to the embassy it was an Iranian woman who worked at the embassy that was being very rude to everyone and told them to come back the next day with no explanation other than laws have changed (we still don't know what that was about). The next day when she returned she was interviewed by an American woman who was very nice to her. The woman interviewed her in English, and told her all the papers are in order, asked her a couple of questions, and told her to watch the website for her number to come up in the next few weeks (She said that everyone from Iran has to go through this process now).

Najmeh said that many of the interviewers were being hard on some of the people who were being interviewed, but she didn't know thier personal situations. She said some people were denied quickly and left really upset. The interviewers were also checking pictures with a special light to see if they'd been photoshopped, but they didn't do that to her pictures. The interviewer seemed to be impressed that there were so many family members on both sides that supported and attended the engagement party in Dubai. They didn't look at her emails, phone bills, or skype pages, but they had a huge package on her and my son (I think it was all of the things that he sent in the original package for the K-1, which included airline tickets for everyone who attended the party, tons of pictures of everyone, all of the reciepts (hotels, dinners, activities, flowers, shopping), and a DVD of the engagement party).

I feel confident she will get the visa it's just a matter of time.

That's a truck load of evidence!!! Since she said that people were denied right then and there and she wasn't, I have all hopes that she's fine and will be out of AP very soon. Keep the faith Ney because it will work out. Us september filers have had luck on our side so she'll be fine. I'm just confused as to why they didn't keep her passport.

Let us know the minute you find something out.

I'M so sorry that I've been away for so long. Mathew surprised me early and I've been spending as much time with him as possible. Well, and he's been hogging the computer.

Anyway, I dropped him off at Louisville airport earlier and now I'm back in lexington for a while. I've been shopping for my bridal jewelry and now I'm gonna go find an outfit for my visit to him next month. But most importantly we got our wedding rings last night!!!

I'm so happy everything went good for jenn. I knew it would!!! And I know Neys daughter in law will be here before we know it.

AandD is next, then me. Can you believe were all almost done??? Crazy.

Congrats on the rings!

And yes we're almost all done. I'm sure AandD will get it, then you & Maggie will be a breeze coz we all know Canada & the U.S. are buddies. I'm also positive that Ney's daughter in law will hear the good news soon. I believe we're all lucky to have joined this forum and formed a bond.

Just got back to Istanbul and now my computer seems to be working... I couldn't get online for several days, or would get online and then explorer would freeze and I couldn't do anything.

Was on a computer in the hotel lobby, this morning, and the Turkish keyboard was driving me crazy.. plus we had to get to the bus station, so didn't take time to read through all the posts I have missed lately.

Ney, I am soooo sorry to hear everything that happened, but I can only hope that it will be taken care of quickly.

I will definitely post our whole story later.. either tonight or tomorrow! When I thought they weren't going to let me in the embassy I thought I might have a nervous break down :)

But.. this part is behind us. Will fill you in as soon as I can. A & D.... I will be looking for news from you!!!!

OK.. so here was our experience...

We got to the embassy at 8:00am and got in line with everyone out on the side walk. At 8:15am they called in the 8:30am interviews. Fuat and I walked up to the first guard and handed him our passports. He found Fuat's name on the list and highlighted it and then looked for mine ( which wasn't on the list of course). Fuat explained to him that I was the USC and attending the interview with him and the man said he would have to go in and ask if I was allowed to enter.. The guard went in, then came back out and said I would have to wait outside on the side walk and Fuat was to get in line with the people waiting to go through the security check.

My hands were shaking and Fuat just kept saying, they said you have to wait outside.. and I kept saying "tell them I have an email that says I can go in".. so then I got in line with him, for security and the first guard just kept watching me. I just kept looking at Fuat and telling him to TELL them I have an email...so he said to just stay with him and when it was his turn to walk through security I went through the door first.. put my stuff on the conveyor belt and started to walk through the metal detector. Then guard # 2 saw my passport and kept saying "Stop" in Turkish.. the first guard came in and looked at me and AGAIN I said that I had an email FROM THE EMBASSY saying I could be there.. Guard # 3 came up and said "show me".. so I gave him the email and pointed to the last line that said "US petitioner is more than welcome to attend interview with beneficiary". He said "OK" in Turkish and told the other two to let me through. I was shaking so bad and just taking deep breaths thinking how I was about to be arrested in the Embassy if they wouldn't let me through.

Then we got in line to go to the first desk to give his papers, passport, proof of relationship and medical info... they wouldn't take all our proof of relationship because they said we had too much :) Heck.. it was only from October to now.. but yes.. it was a lot.. so we gave them the photo album and the binder with the emails, flight tickets, sms text print outs, hotel receipts and phone bills ( just from October to now) and then we went inside and at down.

Fuat was called up, about 15 minutes later, for finger prints and we began the wait for an interview. Most of the officers were women, so I was praying we would get a woman and kept telling him to just flash that beautiful smile and pretend he was trying to make a sale to one of the tourists who come in his shop. He is very suave.. which is how he hooked me in the first place :)

We were just sitting, waiting and trying to joke and laugh with each other.. even though I knew we were both really nervous. At one point I turned around, looked at the interview windows behind us and I saw a woman looking through our photo album and smiling.. I grabbed Fuat's arm and told him they were looking at our documentation... and then I started to pray the woman looking at the photos and smiling was the same one who would interview us...and... she was.

Our number came up and Fuat walked up to the window with me right behind him. She said hello to him and then I made sure she saw me and said "good morning". She seemed suprised to see me standing there.. but smiled at that. Then she said she was going to have someone bring our photo album and binder back out to us since it was too big for her to fit through the little slot under the window. So I said.. " I guess that's why they wouldn't take this other evidence we have" and showed her the huge binder of MSN conversations and the envelope of cards and letters.. and she laughed and said that was probably true.

She looks at both of us and says, "I've looked at the photos, I've looked at the emails... So, Fuat, tell me how you met each other". After he answered that and adds " and it was two years ago today." She looked really suprised and said " WOW! Really? Happy Anniversary"... and I said " I KNOW! I couldnt believe it when I found out our interview was scheduled for today of all days."..she looked at me and said, "and you've been to Turkey several times since then I see.. and I agreed of course.

Then she asked Fuat what he intended to do once he gets to the US and he told her that I had arranged for him to work at my company.. and she looked over at me and said, "and you work at that big amusement park don't you?". She asked what job he would do and he said "whatever job she picks for me".. So I explained that even though the economy wasn't great right now, we had several jobs he could do until he was able to find something else.

Then she asked me if the economy had affected our business and I told her "Not really, we haven't seen too many problems because of it."

SHe pulls out a white form and my heart stopped a little, since I had heard the white forms are a denial.. but she handed him a card and said, "Well, Ive seen all I need to see.. go give this to the UPS desk and you will have your visa by Friday."

I smiled, told her "Thank you so much".. and that was it!!!!!!!

I can only hope everyone else gets through so easily..

and Ney.. that the AP ends quickly.

Jenn that's great news reading about your guys interview. Tomorrow your Mother arrives in Turkey right? I bet she will be happy. Do you know when Fuat will be coming to the states?

Ney looks like she passed and that they just have to do some name checks things that they do with Iran and other MENA counties. Hopefully it won't take to long. Good Luck we are still sending good vibes your way.

AandD is next your shouldn't be a problem. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I'm about to lose it  I've been online at delta's website trying to call them and NONE of the gazillion numbers that they have listed work.

ALL the numbers are busy. So I google it and came up on the website that has a ton of complaints that delta posts the wrong customer service number on their site, that they charge a arm and a leg to change a flight and basically that their service sucks. So afeter I found a working number I called and waited 45 minutes just to hear the rep tell me that there's a $150 CHANGE FLIGHT FEE PLUS THE DIFFERNCE IN FARE!:crying::cry::crying:

Now I'm really freaking worried. That's why I gotta love Jetblue!

Delta is a pain in the neck.. I can NEVER get through to them. Lucky you were only told $150 for a change in ticket.. when my mom tried to change hers to come one day early, they told her $250 plus difference in ticket. That's why I almost always fly United. Got stuck with Delta on this trip though.

Seb, our plan is to have Fuat come the last week of March or first week of April. I am in Turkey/Greece until March 8th and he has to give notice to work, and wants to spend some time with his family... but looks like he will come about 3 weeks after I get home.

A & D, I will be watching for the great news tomorrow!!!
