the only true sentence is that infidel = non believer. In my opinion the letter was fabricated or the imam was an infidel hhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I got this email from someone I thought was my friend.

is this what most americans think about muslims?

I didnt know if I should be pissed or laugh.

This is a true story and the author, Rick Mathes, is a well-known leader

in prison ministry. The man who walks with God always gets to his

destination. . If you have a pulse you have a purpose.

The Muslim religion is the fastest growing religion per capita in the

United States , especially in the minority races!!!

Last mon th I attended my annual training session that's required

for maintaining my state prison security clearance. During the training

session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman

Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who explained each of their

beliefs.

I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The

Imam gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a

video.

After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers.

When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Imam and asked:

'Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that most Imams and

clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the

infidels of the world and, that by killing an infidel, (which is a command

to all Muslims) they are assured of a plac e in heaven. If that's the

case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?'

There was no disagreement with my statements and, without hesitation, he

replied, 'Non-believers! '

I responded, 'So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of

Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so

they can have a place in heaven. Is that correct?'

The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of a little boy who had just been caught with his hand in the cookie

jar.' He sheepishly replied, 'Yes.'

I then stated, 'Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine Pope

John Paul commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or Dr.

Stanley ordering all Protestants to do the same in order to guarantee them

a place in heaven!'

The Imam was speechless!

I continued, 'I also have a problem with being your friend when you and

your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me!

Let me ask you a question: Would you rather have your Allah, who tells

you to kill me in order for you to go to heaven, or my Jesus who tells me

to love you because I am going to heaven and He wants you to be there with

me?'

You could have heard a pin drop as the Imam hung his head in shame..

Needless to say, the organizers20and/ or promoters of the Diversification

training seminar were not happy with my way of dealing with the Islamic

Imam, and exposing the truth about the Muslims' beliefs.

In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in the U.S. to elect

the President!

I think everyone in the U.S.. should be required to read this, but with

ACLU, there is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us

send it on! This is your chance to make a difference.. .

FOR GODS' SAKE! PLEASE SEND THIS ON!

Every time I get an email like that, I respond to every person it was sent to when it was sent to me and I correct every wrong part of it! I do so in a very polite and easy going way and give them gentle reminders that it is not ok to spread these things not knowing if they are true or not and that they need to have research to back up the lies that they are sending. It ruffles my feathers in a major way!!!

That is laughable. There is no way that any imam would make that statement. Islam does not say to kill all non-Muslims. If that were true, and people really believed that, there are enough Muslims in the world that they would have killed off everyone by now. This is nothing more than propaganda. Muslims don't need to spread by the sword. Their fertility rate alone is what is taking over the world Example, my husband's brother is a father to 16 children and still going!

I could be incorrect in this, but I think "shiites' believe this. They believe that killing them is actually more merciful to them than letting them go on with their befiefs. I know someone who told me this that was Shiite. However, a small percent of muslim are Shiite. The majority of muslims, 90% perhaps are Sunni and do not hold this belief. There is alot of misconceptions about Islam and its frustrating.

Read Reza Aslans book "NO God but GOD" , killing non believers as a must is not in the Quran, and like the Roman catholics and etc who changed the Holy bible to meet the need of thier times, the Shariah and laws were passedcreated by men and leaders of thier time over the centuries. ALot of these edicts are invalid and many negate the democratic spirit of th Quran in which the prophet (pbuh) and Allah had intended.

I was taught that jihad (holy war) is very strict and goes by strict rules..It only applies to people that are taking your religion away from you..has nothing to do with killing non-believer..It is in the Quran we are to respect the religion of the books men can marry women of the book so why the heck would they be ordered to kill non-believers...When people mention stupid thing just answer them in very simple terms..Jihad is not allowed to be fought for land or laws or any other #######..It was meant for and when there was a time where one's religion could be taken from them..Some people are so ignorant...

I agree with you but I just want to add something...Jihad means struggle....holy war is not jihad and was never mentioned in the Quran and I wouldn't even know what's it called in arabic! lol

This is not correct. I am born Shiite, as is the vast majority of Muslims in Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, and Syria. I don't know who told you this, but like every sect of EVERY religion, there are always the select few people in each that are fundamental, close minded thinkers, that take what they read in literal terms. Killing anyone, muslim or not, is wrong. The real difference between Sunni's and Shiites is not in doctrine per say , but rather in political issues--like who after the prophet's death was the first Caliph. There is no compulsion in religion--and so believing or not believing in Islam, is a personal choice.

About the OP... that's a pretty sad email to read from someone you thought was your friend. When I first read it, common sense flashed lights in my head and I was like, there are HUGEEEEEEE lies in this email. If one were to know anything about the Muslim Community and what has gone down since Sept 11th, you would know that no real Muslim Imam in the US would be so uninformed as to not rebut even ONE of those insane claims.

Here is clarification about the verses in the Quran that some interpret at having such meaning, along with the context and the conditions.

I am not a fighter, and I DO NOT want this to turn into any sort of argument, but I don't think it's very nice to attack any group/sect of muslims/nonmuslims etc, especially when we're not sure of or a not able to support what we are claiming. I know you mentioned that you weren't sure, but if that's the case, then why even mention it? No hard feelings though!! Much love!
