No they're not mormon....they're some sort of conservative Christian denomination.

The Duggars also are associated with a Conservative Christian movement called Quiverfull. Quiverfull families try to have as many children as possible and do not use any birth control. They just have as many children as "God intends them to have."

Although, just to point out (and I'm not Mormon), just because other Christian denominations do not "recognize" them as Christians as you say, does not mean they are not Christains. Mormons are Christians according to the definition of Christian: a person who adheres to Christianity, a monotheistic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, who Christians believe was the Son of God and the Messiah (Christ) prophesied in the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible. Your pastor and you can consider whatever you want, but based on the "qualifications" of being a Christian, Mormons fit.

Uh huh the same religion where the founder claims they found tablets in upstate NY, which prompted him to start the religion.

If anyone would know about Christianity it would be the Orthodox and Catholics, considering they were established by an apostle. Hence their 1.5 billion followers.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I see nothing wrong with what they are doing. I wouldn't want that many kids, but then, why should we judge her or, conversely, those who do not want any kids at all? They are not on welfare, their kids are doing great, mother and babies are healthy.

Well I hope they are not using the it's Gods will excuse.

Some people get pregnant because they enjoy it. I saw something about it but barely read it. Ironically at the time I thought of this mother.

They are. Interestingly enough though, she stops breastfeeding after 3 months in order to regain her fertility. Not sure how that fits in with God's will.

I really don't know much about this family, but if they're raising socially responsible children, I really don't have any complaints. It's definitely not for me - for starters, I can't see how you could give that number of children adequate attention. Although they probably receive better parenting than a lot of children in smaller families.

My first reaction is "what?" to this news...but in general I feel the same about it as you. People love jumping all over this. It's not worth it in my opinion. Who really cares?

According to wiki, there are approx 13.5 millions Mormons, that's quite a lot as well.

And the argument that they are not as old as the Catholics is a very silly argument indeed. Judaism is much older than catholicism...so that must be the right religion, right?

The Bible clearly states that there will be true prophets after Christ. Maybe I don't believe that Bringham Young was a prophet, but that doesn't mean that Mormons aren't Christians.

Okay, I promise I'm not Mormon, but the last I checked Mormons still trust the Bible first....or am I mistaken on that?

Just because they believe in a prophet doesn't mean they do not trust in the Bible first and foremost. The Bible says nothing about the lack of any other prophets. It actually says that there WILL be more prophets, but that you need to be careful and test them to make sure they are true.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – No. 19 caught Michelle Duggar by surprise. As she gears up to become a grandmother for the first time, the 42-year-old mom of 18 took a pregnancy test on a whim and was shocked to see she was pregnant. She said she feels well, but is plagued by morning sickness.

Michelle and her husband, Jim Bob Duggar, live in Tontitown, Ark.; and are featured with their family on TLC's "18 Kids and Counting." Their oldest son, Josh, and his wife, Anna, are expecting their first child next month.

Michelle Duggar said she's nearly 12 weeks along and due on March 18.

hmmm...so I just googled this because I was curious. she's getting close to the world record.

The greatest recorded number of children born to one mother is 69, to the first wife of Feodor Vassilyev (Russia). In 27 pregnancies between 1725 and 1765 she gave birth to 16 pairs of twins, 7 sets of triplets, and 4 sets of quadruplets. Only two of the children failed to survive their infancy. The mother also holds the records for giving birth to the most sets of twins and the most sets of quadruplets.

I didn't take that as racist, I must have missed something.

Me either..."YOUR FACE" is just an immature comeback to something when that person has no imagination to come up with anything better....a bit like the whole "YOUR MOM" #######

Whatever happened to using the brain that God gave you and use it for common sense purposes...or does that mean you're "playing God"? Sheesh, I was raised in conservative fundamentalism....no way EVER would I want to return.

BTW, she doesn't have time for all those children...the older ones help raise the younger ones. That's what is sad to me...do the older ones even have a choice? They don't date either...they practice courtship and I can just about bet that the first time they kissed was at the altar. I knew a family like that. She wanted as many as she could have too...but only had 9...and was upset that she couldn't have more. Another friend of hers was pregnant with #12 when her first grandchild was born.

42 and 19 kids...holy moly!

Families who homeschool and practice courtship don't allow the young couple to be alone EVER until the wedding. You cannot enter a courtship unless there will be a wedding to follow and everything you do together is done with the family or church. Hand holding is ok...physical contact in other ways is a no-no. This is so that the "temptations of the flesh" aren't a temptation.

Oh I learned a lot from my Fundie churchmates.
