Ok, worried.

It's only been 7 days since I submitted our K-1 Petition, but my check hasn't even cashed. I expected atleast to have seen that come through the bank.

Any ideas?! Of course I want to worry and ONLY think the worst. :(

I saw someone else online knew within two days of submitting her K-1 that she had received her NAO1. Bummer for me.

USCIS are nothing if inconsistent and what will happen with one petition varies greatly from another. The average number of days that it takes to cash a check varies. These variations occur because they open packages at different times and the processing of checks varies from bank to bank.

Did you send the package registered delivery? If you did, trace it, make sure it got there and then give the check a few more days to cash before you start worrying.

Double check the obvious stuff. Check was made out to "US Department of Homeland Security". Check was not post dated. Check amount (both numerical and spelled out) was $455. Check was signed. Account has sufficient funds. Hopefully, you either have a photocopy of the check, or you use carbon checks, so you can verify this stuff. If everything is ok, then stop worrying - you did everything right.

How did you send the petition? Overnight with delivery confirmation? 2nd day? 3rd day? Express mail. Old fashion snail mail? Delivery confirmation is always recommended. For a little extra cash you have the piece of mind knowing that somebody actually received it, and concrete proof if it wasn't delivered. Allow extra time if you opted for a slower method of delivery.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

For a recent AOS I filed it took 8 days for the check to clear. The WORST that can happen is that you forgot something really major...like forgot to sign the petition or forgot to sign the check. In this case they will return the whole package (usually within 2 weeks) and you correct the error and resend it. MUCH better than getting an RFE

PHewwwwwwwwww it cashed yesterday. Also looked online, says that, "we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you." Is that an NAO1?

Sorry for sounding, umm dumb! :innocent:
