Hi there!! I was hoping someone could give me some advice on my case. I know you're not supposed to work when people are applying with all kinds of visa, but I've been self-employed as an S-Corp. since 2006 and I've stopped providing my services because I had to move to another city when I got married. Would I still be able to work or do I have to wait for a work permit? My services have been Corp-to-Corp.

I don't want to work if I can't so if anyone knows... please help!

Thanks for the help!! :)

You worked for 3 years without proper documentation? Please say it isn't so :o

Unfortunately yes Len... I'm one of those cases where a kid comes with their parents to the US and wants to call it home but can't... hopefully it's all about to change for me :)

Let me see if i got this corerctly:

1. You came here without a visa when you were a kid

2. Once you became 18 you did not go back to Brasil and began accruing illegal presence.

3. you married a USC and are trying to adjust status.

If all the 3 above are correct; you are in for hell. You cannot adjust status because you have no status. Contact an immigration attorney asap.

Thanks for the concern Len... but i'm on the right track according to the immigration attorney... I just have to file everything at once... and hope for the best.... I've seen a lot of illegal immigrants obtain residency and they went through the same thing as me... and they now have their GC's... so I'll be ok :)

Working without proper docs can be fatal to your case.
