We are aware of 5-6 other people who have their cases completed at NVC and are waiting for their interview to be scheduled for MTL...knowing how many of us are waiting and how long their cases have been completed would give us at least some idea how big the backlog is...

Got my interview date for Spet. 28th at Montreal. Call DOS and see if an interview has been scheduled for those of you waiting.

Calling Dept of State probably works for K-1 but not for CR/IR and family based...or am I wrong?

So, I think that the DOS number there is not for CR/IR1 visas -- I believe it's for people obtaining non-immigrant status visas, no? Anyone who knows more, let me know but as far as I know, this is applicable to the K1s and that is it. OH and much congratulations, Domegirl, that is awesome news. Gives us all hope and well... it's nice to see a little movement.

:D

I called DOS at 202-663-1225.

You press 1 and then 0 and you get transferred to an operator. I don't know if this is just for K-1's though.

You're right, but these folks are K1 - CR1 would call NVC to check for an appointment date.
