It really depends on several factors. Are you driving alone? Are you going to just be doing marathon driving sessions and only stopping to sleep? Tourist attractions, and most importantly, will you be stopping in Las Vegas? If you stop in Vegas, add 3 days to the total. I havent' done Toronto to Los Angeles, but I have done NYC to L.A., and Virginia Beach, VA to L.A.. NYC to L.A., I was driving by myself and took me 4 days of driving 12-16 hours per day. Drove from Virginia Beach to L.A. with a friend doing shifts round the clock and made it here in 40 hours.

To answer the question in the thread title: Really freakin' long!

We did Niagara-Denver and it was pretty painful. Drive time alone was 24 hours, but we stopped overnight. Doing such a long drive i'd really suggest stopping to sleep every now and then, even with 2 drivers... its hard to really get quality sleep in a car. No time in the world is worth your safety!

My dad can drive from Toronto to Miami in less than 48 hours and that's with two sleep breaks of 8 hours.

He's a driving monster.

I've been through it about 6 times.

I would imagine 3 days or so from there.

I was considering driving it with my fiance so we can drive my stuff down, but we're going to ship it down instead... since I let my license expire on the G2 level.

we drove from LA to BC, Canada which is about 1300 miles... we did it in just under 3 days but we only drove about 6 or 7 hours a day.. that was plenty of driving for us..

Only n00bs drive the speed limit mkay :P (j/k)

I guess I have a skewed perspective on this, I can do L.A. to Las Vegas in 3.5 hours. If you have someone else to drive with you and you are driving round the clock, it should take you just under 2 days, provided that you drive at least a bit over the speed limit.

I only could tell you St. John's, Newfoundland to Sacramento, CA (i only know the long way too, which is a stop in Austin, TX, but we were avoiding snow then too) :) but google maps is pretty close, they average you at a normal driving speed, so if you speed, you can do it faster. If you have GPS, it of course will always give you your ETA. And like someone else said, if you stop more a lot, then of course it will take longer. I always try to do 800-1000 miles a day when I do distance driving, just because I want to get it over with lol. Our pull, we did have a trailer behind one of our vehicles (seperate cars used walkie talkies to talk to each other) so since he was pulling, had to stop a lot for gas and of course, he couldn't go as fast as me, so I had to settle for the speed limit he was able to do. And we'd say in a hotel every night because its just a drain on your body sitting in a car for hours. (at least for me, murder on my neck too lol)
