It is actually legal to own a gun in the UK. If I remember correctly you can only keep a shotgun at home (if you're a farmer). You can also have a handgun if you are a member of a shooting club (and keep it there).

No, they are only telling you how you are perceived by the rest of the developed world; developed as in not poor; as in not trying to come here for a spousal visa world.

Actually, it's no secret that to Brits, all Americans are Yankees or Yanks.

First off the messages are back off blair and how long ago did he stop being our PM? So its old footage.

Second as posted earlier we do have rights to own guns if we need them...majority of the public don't require nor need one so don't have a license or gun or membership to a gun club. I used to live in the countryside many in my town did have shot guns because they go pheasant/pigeon shooting or even pest control for local farmers if they are not the farmers themselves. I didn't see anyone upset cos they couldn't swan around with said gun strapped to their hip up the high street, but then why would they need it going to spar? its not like billy the kid is going to jump them just before they enter?
