hey guys

add another one

okay i know this has been asked MANY times

but what is the first thing to do?

i just got my approval yesterday

i see something about giving them your email address? do i call the asap and do that? or do i wait to have a case number assigned?

when you call 6033340700, you will need your USCIS receipt number and once they have received you file you want to talk to an operator and give your email and your husbands email.

That's what I have been told anyways...LOL

They have yet to get mine, but I keep calling

I have tried calling them too but as I expected, they have not received our file yet. I can't wait to get started with NVC and Im hoping it would be an easy one for all off us.

Just a few more days to wait out I guess, that's way better than the almost 4 months wait with USCIS.

I may have to join this NVC group, I mean, my group is nearly done and my husband procrastinates like...a lot. :|

Welcome, Bern!

Okay, y'all. Everybody told me the NVC people were really nice. Where are these nice people when I call?

I'm really confused. I had read before that if you use an attorney, there is no need to send the designation of agent because by default, the attorney is listed as your agent. He did file the G28 along with the I130.

What scares me is that the attorney will get all the notices & they'll sit on the corner of his desk. So I called today to make sure the NVC had my email address and to clarify that I would receive copies of any notices that went to the attorney, even the invoice.

The snippy NVC operator, who is clearly impatient with us VJ'rs bothering her on the hour, made a big sigh and said that our lawyer will receive further paperwork in "6-8 weeks." I offered dead silence and actually made this face----> She then said, "It may be more like 4-6 weeks."

Okay, 4-6 is better than the 5 months USCIS quotes you, but holy heck... why are people getting their invoices in 4 days after NVC enters it into the system, and I'm sitting here with nothing? :crying:

The operator did reassure me that any time they send something to the attorney, they will notify me by email, so at least that makes me feel better. Cause then I can monitor what's going on.

Why is it that the closer you get, the more patience it takes?

That is probably why I think I'm slowly losing my sanity. If I were you, I'd ditch the lawyer...but anyway, when you call and have a case number assigned, just give them your e-mail and your husband's. Then you wait a week and you should get the fee via e-mail :)

Been hanging around the August thread, but so many of my good June buddies are here. :luv: Things are moving sooo slow for us at the NVC, it seems. My fault - I didn't realize that when I had my case number, I should call & give email addresses.

Why is it that the closer you get, the more patience it takes?

JJ, that pic you have posted of the Angel with her head down, that says it all for this WHOLE process!!!

Its a great pic, where did you ever find it????

I may have to join this NVC group, I mean, my group is nearly done and my husband procrastinates like...a lot. :|

Truly happy!!!

Bern - maybe we can have side-by-side rockers in whatever institution they place us in when we go bonkers. As for the attorney, we're going to need a waiver, so I caved and hired an attorney.

Paris - the angel pic pretty much sums up how I feel. I can't remember where I found it - probably some free graphics site online

Mal- I hope you're right. I can't take much more of this.

Bern, just try to hang on. Does this help...... :bonk:

Your life IS on hold. I liken it to a tar pit. You can't move forward, you can't go back.

But look at the bright side - you are whizzing through the NVC, and it's going to be a short ride.

You'll have an interview & approval shortly, I just know it.

{hugs}
