NVC September - 2009 Edition

do you have all your papers sorted out and ready for NVC? I feel like if you have your packages already prepared you are in good shape and it is a possibility. I am still waiting for my joint sponsor to send me documents completely so I know that I will probably be little behind because of that. My aim was to be done by February and that seems likely at this point. I just am praying that we do not have tackle the AP monster- but I am keeping my mind prepared in case.

Trust me, getting the packet from the embassy was extremelyyyyyyyy tempting- especially because I live with my in laws and we were having some issues- but I figured in the long run money wise and time consuming wise I should just stick with the CR1 visa.

No I don't have any of the I 864 stuff ready, well I have my tax returns, but I am a student. I need a sponsor LOL. But I don't think it will take me more than a few days to get the stuff from them. My husband's working on the DS 230, DS 3032 is pretty simple and paying the bill is simple but painful LOL. Well at least you have a sponsor so you are ahead of me. I am going in December for the interview (if I get the interview date), because I don't want any AP. I have been married for almost a year now and I am tired of waiting.

malika e alia..what is your whole timeline like? I figured since both of us are going to Islamabad we can use each other as a reference. Amazingly, Islamabad is moving really quickly- they processed my husband's k3 package in 1-yes ONE day...I was pretty amazed. However, we decided not to go forth with the k3 and move on with CR1 so I am still waiting for the ds3032 and the AOS bill.

My NOA2 was dated August 31, 2009 and now I am waiting for the NVC case number. Seems like you already have a case number. I am not going to follow the k3 either, but one day is really fast. Seems tempting but don't have a lot of money for the k3 process. I need an interview date of December so that I can go with my husband for the interview. Do you think if my NVC gets completed by October, I would be able to get an interview date of December?

They should offer some sort of diploma or certificate of completion for getting through this process... But I suppose having out loved ones with us is a better reward!

christeen, there is 2 diplomas/certificates, One is completion of sanity, and the other is the rest of your life with loved one in USA. That is the best reward.

Good! I will add both on my resume along with the title "certified sane wife" along with now being fluent in the language of "governmentese"....

We need those sanity certficiates to show we are sane when the next idoit asks us if we are crazy for going thru all of this.

LOL! Everybody who knows I am going through this think I am crazy even my family. I know what I am after is something I will never have again.

Hi! Maybe you can get a schedule for interview by December, Hopefully the NVC will process fast in your papers and no RFE's. Until now my husband is still waiting for the AOS bill and ds3032, NVC received our case last Sept. 01, 2009. We also want to have a schedule interview by November or December to be together at christmas.

I am hoping for that Lady AA. You have your case number that's good, I have waited for 15 days. I am so unlucky. I basically had to go through a lot to approve my NOA2, and I can't believe right now I am waiting for a case number. NVC is so biased, how can they not assign me a case number it's been 15 days, and some people get their case number in 2-3 days. I am complaining a lot, but it's frustrating.

Malkaaa ,, yes indeed i have been a sponsor long time ago just to help out people ,, and i guess people are fogetting the golden rule " Do unto others As they have done unto you, i understand your firstaration ,, keep on asking different people especially family memebers , and friends ,, as far as being in a warfare forget it we are in a school " we are not gonna go though welfare " what is so ever NOOOOOOOOOOOOO way !!! ,but for now i guess the government wants us to support our hubbies ( we ought to any way) i am gonna start assembliying as soon as possible !! best wishes hang in their dear !!!

guess what?

i called NVC just now, and the reasonably nice, but quite brief, girl on the phone told me my case wasn't there yet and after asking me the "date on my NOA2" told me that i need to wait 90 days for the case to arrive at NVC. uh huh.

lol... what the fark... i know, i know, it's what they HAVE to say.. but whateveeeeer.

i giggled down the phone to her, and said, oh ok, that's fine, i was just ringing to ask how long it takes.

she said "thank you ma'am" and then that was it!

lol.. i am bewildered!

I call them everyday and this is what they tell me all the time. I swear they recognize my voice, coz this one lady this morning talked to me she knew me from the last time I called. LOL. I hate NVC. It's been 15 days , I need my case number.

I mean my husband can find a job, like anything, and then he can go to school and get a decent job. But people think we will apply for welfare, and I keep on telling them NO WE WON'T. You are right, I mean someone sponsored the immigrants before they came to this country, but after they are here they forget about everything they had to go through. I can't ask family because of family problems. I have asked a couple of friends, but all my friends are students, don't earn that much money. It sucks, but I will get through this process. I will find a way! Thanks

HI all.... Are they going to email me the AOS bill and the DS3032 to give to my wife now that they have our emails? How long do I have to wait before I should be sending these off..

NVC recieved and assigned a case number September 10th...

Also does the NVC require Baptism certificates? The interview checklist for the K3 visa in Colombia seems to require it but the NVC shortcut on VJ does not saying anything about it for the CR1????

You don't need Baptism certificate because State and religion are two different things. Not everybody in America is a Christian.

yes we are not out side of the time line but some pepple are getting their case ,, so are not i don't know some times it depends on their mood to work and PMS as well

you are not the only one malka.its been 14 days for me and still no case number yet.i guess they are behind a little but i am sure it will soon but i didnt expect it to take that long to assign a freakin number,we gotta be patient and wait.

Hey Sept. NVCer's once you get your case number you will roll thru NVC, so use this time to get your 2 packets in order for NVC. Spec?, did you finish your 2 packets yet?????

I have a feeling that NVC has/will be slowing down due to the surge in approvals the last couple of weeks....just my thought.

malika- the sponser part is indeed stressful. I was home in NJ for the summer to get everything to file the i-130 together and I was going nuts asking people to joint sponser with me because of the whole earning issue. I was making well over the amount necessary before I got married (July 08) but I did not apply for my husband- then finance. My ex boss ended up offering to sponser me himself when I was discussing the difficulities of immigration to him. So good things happen to people who believe. The man only knew and worked with me for 8 months and people I have helped and done stuff for my entire life would not lend a hand.

I will pray for you. I know its really difficult...but hang in there

I don't believe he offered to help you. I feel like our own people betray us and sometimes strangers are more helpful than kith and kin. I have never been the type of person to ask anybody something this huge, but I need the help so I have to. I will need your prayers and I will pray that your case goes forward smoothly. I kinda am freaking out that everyone has started assembling their package together and I am still lost, because I don't have anything yet. Hopefully there will be a miracle.
