malika e alia..what is your whole timeline like? I figured since both of us are going to Islamabad we can use each other as a reference. Amazingly, Islamabad is moving really quickly- they processed my husband's k3 package in 1-yes ONE day...I was pretty amazed. However, we decided not to go forth with the k3 and move on with CR1 so I am still waiting for the ds3032 and the AOS bill.

Hi ghayder,

My NOA2 was dated August 31, 2009 and now I am waiting for the NVC case number. Seems like you already have a case number. I am not going to follow the k3 either, but one day is really fast. Seems tempting but don't have a lot of money for the k3 process. I need an interview date of December so that I can go with my husband for the interview. Do you think if my NVC gets completed by October, I would be able to get an interview date of December?

They should offer some sort of diploma or certificate of completion for getting through this process... But I suppose having out loved ones with us is a better reward!

Best of luck to everyone!!!

christeen, there is 2 diplomas/certificates, One is completion of sanity, and the other is the rest of your life with loved one in USA. That is the best reward.

Good! I will add both on my resume along with the title "certified sane wife" along with now being fluent in the language of "governmentese"....

We need those sanity certficiates to show we are sane when the next idoit asks us if we are crazy for going thru all of this.

LOL! Everybody who knows I am going through this think I am crazy even my family. I know what I am after is something I will never have again.

dear malika e alia:

do you have all your papers sorted out and ready for NVC? I feel like if you have your packages already prepared you are in good shape and it is a possibility. I am still waiting for my joint sponsor to send me documents completely so I know that I will probably be little behind because of that. My aim was to be done by February and that seems likely at this point. I just am praying that we do not have tackle the AP monster- but I am keeping my mind prepared in case.

Trust me, getting the packet from the embassy was extremelyyyyyyyy tempting- especially because I live with my in laws and we were having some issues- but I figured in the long run money wise and time consuming wise I should just stick with the CR1 visa.

hello guys! been with NVC for months now since our petition was approved by USCIS. My husband submitted the required documents to NVC and on Sept 2, we both received an e-mail with Checklist from NVC. They said the requested AOS is already received but not the payment yet of the IV. So they gave instructions on how he will pay it. Also, I was asked to complete another DS-230 form because they said that my answers pertaining to All places lived since reaching the age of 16 is incomplete... I called the USEM in Manila,PHils to inquire if I still need police certificates to support my answer in DS-230 and they said NO not unless i lived in another country upon reaching the age of 16. Whew!!! hassle! I already sent the DS-230 to my husband thru fedec and he will receive it later. Hopefully he will send it right away to NVC for another review... hopefully this time, its case complete..

Anyway, I will be with you in this September journey with NVC. Hopefully we can get our case/s complete so we can get our medical and interview schedule before 2009 ends. GOOD LUCK!!! May GOD help us...

we got NOA2 in the last of August , so now waiting for NVC they have not assigned a case number yet

hey guys,

guess what?

i called NVC just now, and the reasonably nice, but quite brief, girl on the phone told me my case wasn't there yet and after asking me the "date on my NOA2" told me that i need to wait 90 days for the case to arrive at NVC. uh huh.

lol... what the fark... i know, i know, it's what they HAVE to say.. but whateveeeeer.

i giggled down the phone to her, and said, oh ok, that's fine, i was just ringing to ask how long it takes.

she said "thank you ma'am" and then that was it!

lol.. i am bewildered! :P

That's their standard response. The truth is, it's important that we call more or less daily now, so that we ensure that as soon as our case number is loaded, we give them our e-mail addresses and birthdates (petitioner and beneficiary) to get the material sent electronically. I plan on calling every day, possibly twice a day, to check from here on out. I don't want to risk that they process my application and decide to generate paper bills instead of electronically, since that will insert unnecessary time into this process that is already filled with awe-inspiring timesinks.

I don't think any of us are really outside of typical timelines yet. For example, I got approved on Thursday, September 3rd. Everyone lost Monday, September 7th, because of the national holiday. So really, I've only had five business days since I got approved for my case to get across the country and processed. I won't start getting annoyed until next week. Once I hit 10 business days, I'll start to believe that there might be a bottleneck. But even by 15 business days, we're still technically within the VJ average. (10-15 days.)

if i am not mistaken, VJ doesn't count it as business days, that 10-15 days includes weekends as well, unless u're getting this info from somewhere else

so by 15 business days, one would be out of the time frame

Also does the NVC require Baptism certificates? The interview checklist for the K3 visa in Colombia seems to require it but the NVC shortcut on VJ does not saying anything about it for the CR1????

No, baptisim certificates are not required. That would require that everyone entering the US be baptised, which the way I figure, might piss a few folks off... lol...
