All right guys, I'm about to hunker down and assemble all of my packets--the DS-3032, AOS, and the DS-230. I already have all of my paperwork filled out, so this should be fun. ;) I'm hoping that after tonight, I won't need to revisit any of this except to drop it off at the post office. Woo!

On that note, however, does anyone here know if the method for printing out a barcode for the DS-3032 has changed? People are saying now that the NVC sends you a DS-3032 attached to the e-mail to fill out. I assume that, if I already have a filled and signed DS-3032, I can just print and transfer the barcode, yeah?

Thanks guys, wish me luck! It's gonna be a long night.

The DS-3032 NVC sends you the barcode is bigger then the space for the bar code on the DS=3-32 you have had already signed

Gah. That is incredibly frustrating. Getting something signed and scanned by my wife is a huge pain, since Iran's internet is terrible.

Paris, on another note, will this be an issue for any of my other forms? I assume that the DS-230 doesn't need a barcode; does it? And also, is it all right if these forms are dated (as in, the date next to the signature) earlier than when they sent them to me? Thanks!

No DS-230 does not require a bar code. Im sure the dates will be fine that are already on the form. Good luck this evening on assembling your two packets.

It took nearly 2 weeks for us to make it into the NVC system. Somebody mentioned on one of the boards that the USCIS sends the petitions out in a wad on Fridays. So if you got approved late on a Friday, maybe you wouldn't be sent over until the following Friday? Probably just a rumor, but maybe not.

I'm afraid I am going to be stuck @ NVC for a while. The PCC finally came in and now we're just waiting on court & prison records. Those should be ready by the end of next week.

I suppose I'd better get used to waiting, eh, with a denial and waiver looming.... I've started gathering together evidence of hardship. I've requested reports from everybody who can support my claim. It's embarrassing to have to do so, but I really need to stay here, and I need my husband with me.

Most people are surprised at how difficult this has been for us. Everyone in my small town seems to believe that my husband should be allowed to just walk in now that he's married to me. They got used to seeing him/talking with him here while he visited. I have had to explain it many times over, and people are often really offended by the unfairness of it all. Most understand that there needs to be a process, but they generally have no idea how long that official process takes. Some, of course, joke that I shouldn't have married a "foreigner." That hurts. I've learned to brush it off, but it does still hurt.

Despite our uphill battle and ultimate denial at the interview, it will be nice to make it out of NVC - another obstacle passed.

Anyhow, that's my rant for the day. Off now to can some tomatoes from the garden. Every time I stuff a jar full and plop it into the water to process, I think to myself....maybe when I open this jar up, it will be to make a big pot of spaghetti for my darling husband.

Married 2008

-------------------------------------------------------------------

5/21/09 - filed I-130

12/7/09 - Interview (denied for 28 yr old CIMT); filed waiver same day

6/18/10 - I-601 Waiver Denied, added misrep for checking wrong box on landing card (lifetime ban)

7/16/10 - AAO Appeal filed.

8/31/12 - AAO appeal sustained (THANK YOU, GOD FOR YOUR MERCY)

10/8/12 - USCIS sent file to Consulate

11/28/12 - Visa in hand

12/10/12 - HERE AT LAST! (ALL GLORY TO GOD!)
