does any one know if they forward doc that was sent to uscis to embassy ,, i had emails , some phone logs and other important evidence that i failed to make copies when i sent the to uscis at the I130 stage . now i email embassy they said they won't look at our files till the day of the interview, i called nvc ,, they don't know what on earth the receive from uscis, ( well i was not surprised they did not know ) that is them " the answer is always " we don't know !!! we don't know !! are they gonna know any thing ever ??????

so now i want to make sure my husband have those evidence at the interview so does any one have this experience where you get your sent doc at the interview help please !!!!!!!!!!!

Well, my fedex box to USCIS was 7 lbs., and my package from NVC to the embassy was only 2...so my stuff couldn't have been in there! That might be a good thing, because my hubby would fall over if he was handed a bunch of binders full of exhibits!!!

You weighed it???

Hey, hubby got his Social Security Card today... But when he realized it was just a piece of paper/card and not laminated he was so dissappointed... Said "even blockbuster laminates their cards, if it is so damn important you would think they put plastic on it"....!! I laughed and said I would laminate it for him!

No, fedex weighed my package so I could pay them lots of $$$ to send it! The other package's weight from NVC was listed on the DHL website.

Christeen-don't laminate the SSN card! It's invalid if you do that!!!! And make sure he never carries it around in his wallet. Put it in a safe.

Really? I did not know about the laminating thing... I laminated mine like 15 years ago when I was in college and never had any issues... Of course I dont remember having to show it anytime in the last 10 years!!! But thanks for the tip, guess I will just get him the plastic cover... For a bit he needs it with him because it seems EVERYONE asks for it with the I551 stamp... Once he gets the permanent GC and Drivers Licence I suppose we can put it away for safekeeping...

Great idea! Wow, who's asking to see his SSN card? You don't even have to tell doctors your SSN (just medical insurance, banks, employment, etc...). Just make sure he doesn't lose it-the last thing you want is for him to be a victim of ID theft!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

EVERYBODY in trying to set up residence... He has to have it to get issued a state ID/Drivers Licence, to open a bank account and to be added to my accounts, for his work, the Medical Insurance and finally in order for him to get the port clearance from TSA!!!
