Just got my NOA2 hard copy today. Woo!

Now I'll wait until Friday before I start pestering the NVC for my case number... who am I kidding? I'm going to call the AVR once a day, at least, every day this week. I'll try my best to avoid talking to an NVC operator until next week... we'll see how long I can hold out. I am so neurotic.

did you get your case number yet??!!

i want mine sooo bad! i am rarring to go with the next stuff hehe.

:D

Hi ok we got our noa2 aug 15 .I am confussed in what order I send the papers into NVC .

I paid both bills already . My husband sent me back the choice of agent. He also filled out the

DS-230 and mailed it back to me . I also downloaded the the affidavit of support . I no to send in the choice of agent but doi mail anything with it .When do i mail in all of his papers .

Thanks for any help

Brooklyn

SO CONFUSSED

Relax. :) The correct answer is: "yes." ;) Do a search for "LingChe's shortcuts" on this site to get a good idea of what you need to do. I've included a short summary below.

First, you need to send the DS-3032 in. Do this by e-mail FIRST, but if you can, send it via snail mail too. Don't send them any forms your husband is supposed to fill out until you've confirmed they've received and processed your DS-3032, because they won't be able to process what you send them.

Second, begin assembling everything for the AOS. You said you downloaded the AOS--which form? I-864 or I-864EZ? If you are only filing an I-130 for your husband, and your income is above the poverty line, you should use I-864EZ. If you can't meet the income requirements, then you need to fill out an i-864 and either have someone IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD (meaning living with you) fill out an I-864A to help you meet the requirement, or find someone outside the household to be a joint sponsor to fill out the I-864. In either of those scenarios, you're going to need tax info for everyone filling out forms, so start assembling all of that. If you already have all of this and you have paid the AOS, you can send them all of that now. This is independent of the DS-3032 stuff.

Once your DS-3032 is processed, your IV bill will be generated. Pay that and wait for it to be processed, and THEN send in everything for the DS-230. (You said you paid both bills, but then you said that your husband sent you his DS-3032, so I'm not sure if you've paid the IV bill yet?) Make sure you print out the proper cover sheet (with barcode) for your DS-230! Something important here is that you need to find out if where you're interviewing is a STANDARD or AP embassy/consulate. If you are STANDARD, you'll need to send the NVC fewer things, but you will need to schedule an appointment at your embassy yourself and the embassy folks will tell you what to bring to the appointment. If you are AP, then you need to send the NVC a LOT more stuff, but they will schedule an appointment for you and send most of your documentation to the embassy in question. (This does not mean you will not need to bring anything to the embassy yourself! You should still check with the embassy to see what else you'll need to bring!)

I hope this helps. Don't worry! You'll get this done soon. :)

Well they took the money out of my account .

But it still says processing for the $400

thanks Brooklyn

Good moring Jo, yes dearest keep calling them, and I know its hard hearing from NVC that they dont have your case, but they will have it soon if they dont yet. The CR1 is the better way to go for sure. Once you get your casew number, you will fly thru NVC. We are all here to assist you at NVC. All will be fine. Very best wishes.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

Timeline

As you can see from our timelines it was 8 days for my wife & 7 days for our son to show as case received by NVC and have a case number.

Also note that it was 13 days to get the AOS Fee Bill & DS-3032 for my wife via US Mail but only 4 days for our son via e-mail. The difference baing that I had called NVC the day he had a case number there and gave them our e-mail addresses BEFORE THEY GENERATED his AOS Fee Bill & DS-3032 so they were able to e-mail it all to us instead of print & mail it.

Now it has taken 8 days for them to accept her DS-3032 via e-mail and we are expecting our son's to be accepted ether today or tomorrow as they were e-mailed close together. Note that when e-mailing the DS-3032 the short note included in the outdated shortcuts doesn't work anymore. You must fill-out and sign the DS-3032 that is sent to you and then scan it and attach it to the e-mail then follow the provided instructions (put NVC Case number in subject line, Petitioner's name & birthdate and Beneficearies name & birthdate in the message body with note stating that your DS-3032 is attached).

When I sent the AOS (I-864) Packets to NVC I sent the package UPS Next Day Air. NVC's system showed "Mail Received on the case" 2 days after UPS showed it was delivered.

Once they have received the DS-3032, NVC will generate the IV Fee Bill.

The best shortcuts (in my opinion) are:

1. Call NVC starting at 5 days after NOA2 Date to get NVC Case Number.

2. Once you have NVC Case Number, speak to an NVC Operator and give them both party's e-mail addresses.

3. Use Express delivery services (not US Post Office) for return of Document Packages (AOS I-864 & DS-230).

4. Have the documents (AOS I-864 & DS-230 Packages) ready to that when the coversheets are generated you can send them right away.

I've read on VJ that members have been able to get the SLMEC (USEM Manila) Medical Exams by just showing a copy of thier NOA2. I'm going to suggest to my wife, Anna, that she & our son try that before the end of the month as it would cut some time off the wait for her interview.

The wait times now are so much shorter but really more agonizing because we're so close that we can actually imagine the day she will land in Chicago. She has days where I think she'll go crazy from the wait but this is how the US Gov't works: Hurry up and wait...

Lady AA & philmae83,

From reading other posts here on VJ it seems you can do the medical & even the CFO Seminar before you have the USEM Appointment.

I'll send you both PMs, I suggest you contact my Wife, maybe the 3 of you can go together so that you have friends with you for the process.

Bob 4 Anna:

How much did postage cost you to send these packets overnight the way you did? By my estimates UPS and FedEx are even MORE expensive than USPS for overnight service.

I think NVC has taken the" Draggin da feet" lessons from USCIS. Keep calling, you will get case number.

Truly happy!!!

I used the I-864EZ much less complicated!!! Look at it and see if this would be the case for you.

I only listed 2008 , the other years were optional.

Paris, I downloaded the EZ form, but Question #19 still asks for the income on past 3 years tax returns. My 2006 return included my ex-husband's income. I'm not sure how to handle that, since obviously, he's not sponsoring anyone.

Married 2008

-------------------------------------------------------------------

5/21/09 - filed I-130

12/7/09 - Interview (denied for 28 yr old CIMT); filed waiver same day

6/18/10 - I-601 Waiver Denied, added misrep for checking wrong box on landing card (lifetime ban)

7/16/10 - AAO Appeal filed.

8/31/12 - AAO appeal sustained (THANK YOU, GOD FOR YOUR MERCY)

10/8/12 - USCIS sent file to Consulate

11/28/12 - Visa in hand

12/10/12 - HERE AT LAST! (ALL GLORY TO GOD!)
