Fffffffffffffkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!

I'm so over this. I sent the original birth certificate of hubby back to nvc, they got it last Friday the 16th and STILL nothing!!!!!!!!!

The email nvc employees emailed me back when I queried why it was showing on avr and not when I speak to an operator, was stupid....

It just says "dear sir/madam, blah blah we sent an rfe for documents on the i864"

I wrote back just now saying I already sent the documentation back!!!!

#######???? Now I can't call them koz they're closed and I'm soooo upset!

Ok so maybe they do have it and I just need to be patient???

Lets take it down a notch... It has been 3 days... Give em a chance to receive it, log it in and process it with the rest of your paperwork... don't get ur knickers in a wad just yet... I know EVERY day seems like an eternity, however, we have to keep in mind that unfortunatly this stuff takes time.. It's government after all!!!

But the question I am asking is why on earth is the avr saying it's there and the human says otherwise????

Because the AVR is updated by humans and sometimes the lag time between them is a few days... Paris had 12 days of the same message then case complete, I had 6 days saying they were waiting on documents then case complete... Also, you get different operators, some who know the system better then others and some who will stay exactly to the script and some that will investigate further... All depends... If you submitted all the stuff, just trust that they ARE working on it and try not to dwell on every syllabel coming from the AVR or the operators...

It's like a big machine and even though someone might not be able to see exactly where each component is, on the final conveyer belt, it all comes out assembled...

Well it's hard not to worry when I had a real RFE....

But thanks for explaining....

Can't do nothin till they tell you what they need... So just keep your fingers, eyes and toes crossed that they have all the stuff you need and things will be complete for next months interview assisgments.... You still have 3 weeks to complete the case to make Novembers assignment week (nov 9-13)... Plenty of time if anything else comes up

I'm a little confused-they wanted your hubby's birth certificate? I thought the USCs didn't have to send them at the NVC stage, since we already did that with the I-130.

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

Still no background report from acpo, and now there is a postal strike too. :-(

I'd have thought being a special constable would have made it a bit quicker since I had to go through a lot of background checks at the time coming from Northern Ireland. Ah well, what can I do.

Most excellent news though, C and J have their flights booked, they will be able to join me for Christmas at home in NI!

Aw, that's fantastic. I love NI. (Home of my own ancestors & setting for part of my ongoing novel!) I'm particularly fond of the Portstewart area - DUNLUCE!

What is the ACPO? Is that for your Police Clearance Certificate? We needed one from the UK and the Republic, and the UK one came through in about 2 weeks. The Irish one took MONTHS!

The latest news on us is that we had to get a certified copy of the court records for the traffic stuff. Hubs will have that in hand today & will mail it from the Republic tomorrow (to avoid the postal strike).

I had a breakdown yesterday-drove to my therapist's office and just marched into the waiting room in quite an embarrassing state. It was either that or the ER, and I chose her office. I am stepping back from all of this for my health and sanity. Would love to connect with all of the lovely people I've "met" here via Facebook. Message me if you're willing to connect, cause I'd love to stay in touch.
