So, just to be absolutely clear: As soon as the bills are paid and the cover letter with the barcode is generated, I can send the packages in? So I should keep my entire packet ready and just stuff the cover letter in when the time comes? Or do the forms that the NVC sends have a special barcode on top? What was the whole deal about generate barcodes in the shortcuts. I understand that this is only for the AOS package and the DS 230. The DS 3032 can be emailed with a VJ template. And don't send in anything until they ask for it/or it is generated.

Somebody please, reply in the affirmative. Thankyou. My best wishes to all of you.

i didnt use that weird barcode generation stuff in the short cuts. i dont even know how to do it.

as for the barcode that comes up when you have paid the bill, i attached that on the front of all my paperwork (eg the I864 then the DS230 when it came time to send that one) and just sent it off.

you dont need to wait for anything else, all you need is the paid symbol online and then the barcode cover sheet which is generated from the online system, and away you go :D

hope that helps.

p.s. if you email the DS3032, you dont need a barcode of course, koz you are emailing it :D x

question how did u noticed u got accepted by email or u checked the websight

If you email your DS3032 they will respond to you stating that they have accepted the DS3032. But I prefer to mail it in. I did both email and fedex hard copy. My hard copy was accepted in 4 days but only got confirmation on the email yesterday that they have accepted the email version.

Ok, now I'm genuinely confused.

My wife's passport is in her maiden name. All of the paperwork I've submitted--birth certificate, marriage certificate, passport bio--has all been in her maiden name. However, we both want her last name to be changed to mine when she arrives in America, hence when I filled out her information, I used my last name, and listed her maiden name as an alternate name. All of the information I read suggested this was fine.

Now I'm hearing that this will cause problems for her visa? I already sent off my DS-230 packet; what do I need to do to get her greencard issued with her married name, and not her maiden? Is this going to spark an RFE?

You have to have her passport changed... She goes through her country's system to get a new passport issued with her married name (if that is the name you wish to use when entering the USA)... The visa will be issued for her in her married name, she MUST have a passport that matches that name!!! Also, if her passport does not match the name she is using for the airline, then she cannot fly... You have to ACTUALLY change her name in her country before they will issue official documents in another name...

So there is no confusion... YOU WIFE MUST OFFICIALLY CHANGE HER NAME AND HAVE HER PASSPORT ISSUED IN THAT NAME...

Agreed!!!! You shouldn't have put your last name on the application if it wasn't her LEGAL name. NVC wants you to use legal name for application. Putting down your last name if it hadn't been changed will cause problems since passport will show maiden name and application shows married name (but not legally changed)

OK, just tracked packages with DHL and there was a package picked up tonight from the NVC in NH bound for Naples Consulate... It is only 1 lb so I am assuming that it is mine since I did not have too much in the way of paperwork!!! I hope it is mine!!!

How did you do the tracking?

And did you already requested to move your interview on an earlier date? whom are you gonna talk to for this request, is it NVC or the Naples Consulate?

Thanks a lot.

Once you get an appointment date assigned, the NVC sends the paperwork to the consulate... You can track packages being sent from NVC to the various consulates, however, there is no way to tell what the contents of the packages are... just educated guessing based on when you get the news that your appointment was scheduled...

To track packages you go to the DHL website and track packages using reference number... The reference is EXP 13 OCT 2009A (or whatever date you wish to check) and it lists ALL the packages coming from the NVC office to the various consulates...

There was a package sent yesterday night to Naples and it did not weigh much, so I am hoping it is mine since I did not have a lot of paperwork... I really hope that is mine...

Once the consulate gets it, I am requesting through the consulate for an earlier date as Naples consulate does not seem to be too busy with interviews... But I have to wait till they get my package... I contacted them once, and they said to wait till the package arrives and they will see what they can do... Not all consulates are accommodating to this, totally depends? We will see, otherwise, Nov 10 is not that long to wait... But hell, if we can get it sooner, why not???

There are also 3 others Reference codes to use when tracing with DHL B C and CORESPONDENCE.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

Once you get your interview letter from NVC by email there will be a checklist in there in which you will have to go to VFS and submit the required documents to them. For us it was the Passport PCC. We will also be submitting the medical report there as well. You will go there 10 days before interview and submit the required documents and pay the courier fee.
